After the Beast Tide receded, the tribe first erupted into cheers, then began dividing up the beasts’ meat. Once the meat had been distributed, the other two tribes showed no intention of leaving.
Because of this, various frictions began to arise among the members of the three tribes.
The spark for the conflict was still Ning Luo. For reasons unknown, the two other chiefs took a liking to her. One of them was from the Eagle Clan, named Ming Jiu, and he was one of Ning Luo’s future mates.
As for the other one, he was only a minor character.
It was also because Gaien had gone out that Black Wolf happened to run into the other chief trying to force Ning Luo to leave Gaien and become his mate. Ning Luo naturally refused. One reason was that the chief was truly very ugly.
Ming Jiu had also taken a liking to Ning Luo. He stated that if Ning Luo was willing, she could become his mate. As long as she agreed, he would help her and guarantee her safety. It was clearly taking advantage of her situation.
Black Wolf happened to encounter this incident and rescued the weak Ning Luo. Naturally, after Black Wolf helped her out several times, Ning Luo developed feelings for him.
Her heart fell into self blame, yet she could not help thinking about Black Wolf’s kindness toward her. She remained trapped in this inner conflict.
Tang Guo spent her days watching the drama unfold, counting the days, and occasionally chatting with Aoli about lighthearted things. Life was fairly comfortable.
Next came the period when the conflicts among the three tribes truly erupted.
The cause was still Ning Luo.
Originally, that ugly looking chief planned to join forces with Ming Jiu to deal with the Lado Tribe and drive them out. Unexpectedly, at the critical moment, Ming Jiu suddenly switched sides. He joined forces with Black Wolf and drove them out instead.
Even more unbelievable was that Ming Jiu willingly merged into the Lado Tribe and became its deputy chief.
Under these circumstances, Ning Luo enjoyed the care of four powerful males every day: Gaien, Black Wolf, Ming Jiu, and Aimo. However, aside from Gaien, the other three were still in an ambiguous stage, and Ning Luo was not yet able to accept that.
There was now only one day left before the time when Aoli was originally supposed to die.
Tang Guo hugged her dried fruit and went to Aoli’s cave. Aoli was making new shoes for her two mates. Although Aoli was very proud by nature, she was also very skillful with her hands, likely related to her love of pretty things.
“Ah Guoguo, don’t you usually like staying in your own place to sleep? Why do you have time to come over here today?” Aoli asked.
Tang Guo sat down beside her. “Making shoes for Mike and Mier?”
“Yes. Their shoes are worn through, so I plan to make more for them.”
Tang Guo smiled. “Are you planning to go out anywhere soon?”
“Go where? Ah Guoguo, did you find somewhere fun?”
“No.” Tang Guo shook her head and picked up a piece of dried fruit to feed Aoli. “I just came to chat with you.”
“That’s really strange. Ah Guoguo actually came to chat with me on her own.” Aoli looked puzzled. “The High Priest has been gone for a long time now. Ah Guoguo, you are not here to talk about the High Priest, are you?”
“No.”
Tang Guo denied it. She was not worried about Yin Yao. Nothing would happen to him.
“Then why?”
“I came to remind you of something.” Tang Guo did not beat around the bush. “Do not go out tomorrow. Not you, and not Mike or Mier either. You must stop them from going out. Do you understand?”
Aoli blinked, not quite understanding. But seeing Tang Guo’s serious expression, she chose to believe her. This was Ah Guoguo, her friend and the smartest female she knew.
“Alright, I’ll listen to you.”
“When Mike and Mier come back, I’ll tell them to ask the chief for leave tomorrow.”
