Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 679

The tribe members immediately ran up the mountain.

By the time they arrived, Tang Guo and Yin Yao had already pushed the rolling stones down, crushing the final dozen or so beasts to death.

Looking at the beasts’ corpses, the Beastmen all let out sighs of relief. They looked at one another and broke into joyful smiles.

When Black Wolf came up and saw the situation, a smile appeared on his usually cold face. It quickly turned serious again. The Beast Tide would last many more days. “While beasts from other areas haven’t noticed what’s happening here, we’ll first clear out the ones below. Kill any that are still alive, move the bodies aside, and then reset the traps.”

And so, after several days of clearing and resetting the traps, the surroundings of the mountain returned to their earlier state. Seeing that beasts had not yet come this way again, they even continued digging deep pits on the back mountain.

Black Wolf gradually formed a bold idea. In the future, this place could be used as the tribe’s base to develop further. From the mountain, they could see all directions. The cave space was enough for the Lado Tribe members to live in. In normal times, they could build dwellings outside, while the caves could be used to store food.

Once the Beast Tide arrived, they could use today’s method. That way, the Lado Tribe would no longer need to make sacrifices during the Beast Tide.

Black Wolf thought this way, and the chiefs of the other two tribes naturally thought of it as well. They had originally been grateful for the Lado Tribe’s help, but after seeing the advantages of this place, they could not help wanting to claim it for themselves.

This place was not large. It was barely enough to shelter from the Beast Tide. If it were meant for long term survival, it could not accommodate three tribes. If the numbers of the three tribes never decreased during each Beast Tide, the population would only grow larger and larger.

Within a few days, beasts charged in again. These beasts were just as reckless, and in the end, they died in the deep pits. After clearing them out, on the fifteenth day, the Beast Tide arrived once more. This time, none of the members were worried.

Some members even lounged outside, chatting and laughing. From their expressions, it was clear what they were thinking. Look, more fools have come to their deaths.

During this Beast Tide, they did not lose a single member. Instead, they gained many beasts. Once made into dried meat, it was enough food for half the winter.

Tang Guo noticed how relaxed the members of the three tribes were and lowered her head with a smile. Yin Yao noticed and asked, “Ah Guoguo, what are you smiling about?”

“You guess.” Tang Guo smiled at him. “Guess what I’m smiling about.”

Yin Yao tapped her forehead, then pulled her into a brief embrace. “Ah Guoguo, I’m leaving.” He was going to search for the secret of the Beast Tide. This departure was different from before. For the first time, he felt reluctant to leave. He was even afraid that he might die midway and never return to see his Ah Guoguo. For the first time, he felt fear of death.

“High Priest, protect yourself,” Tang Guo said.

She hugged him back. “You must come back alive.”

“I will,” he replied. For his Ah Guoguo, he would come back.

The System felt a little sour inside. Then, thinking about what Yin Yao might face after returning, the jealousy faded, replaced instead by a bit of sympathy for him.

In the end, Yin Yao still could not resist. He kissed Tang Guo’s forehead, then released her. In front of her, he transformed into a snow white wolf and leaped down the mountain, quickly running off in the direction where the beasts had disappeared.

“So he’s a snow wolf,” Tang Guo clicked her tongue. “Pretty impressive. I wonder how he feels to the touch.”

System: You dog.
