Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 594

“Actually, I plan to go back and have a look.”

Song Ye was silent for a moment and said, “No matter what, I have to go back and see my eldest sister. After she got into university, she later chose to go abroad. Now she’s back with her boyfriend. She mentioned last time that she’s planning to get married soon.”

The only thing he hesitated about was whether Guo Guo might be wronged if she went with him.

It wasn’t that he couldn’t protect her, but he was afraid that with the way those people talked, something they said might unintentionally hurt her.

“Then let’s go back and have a look. I read her letters before. Even though Big Sister didn’t specifically say you must go back for the wedding, I think she must be looking forward to her own younger brother witnessing her big day.”

Not long after they got married, Song Ye had told Tang Guo about his family situation.

During that turbulent time, due to certain special circumstances, Song Ye’s father divorced his mother. Not long after, his mother passed away from illness. His father quickly remarried another woman and relied on her family background to gain some success back then, though now it’s uncertain how he’s doing.

At the time, both Song Ye and his older sister Song Qing were sent to the countryside. Song Ye chose to come to Tang Family Village, a remote and isolated place, on the condition that his family use their connections to ensure that his sister, being a girl, wouldn’t have to go far away.

At that time, the Song family had a total of four children, besides Song Qing and Song Ye, there were also his stepmother’s son and daughter.

Their family had two quotas for going to the countryside. Normally, one of the original siblings should have stayed home. But with the complicated family dynamics, it was clear that only Song Qing and Song Ye were ever going to be sent down.

From Song Ye choosing not to return to the capital, and Song Qing going abroad for further study after university, it was clear that neither sibling had any affection left for the Song family. They had likely suffered many grievances back then.

“Then let’s go back and take a look. Didn’t you also say you wanted to send your livestock and planting technicians to Beijing for further training?”

Song Ye thought for a moment. “That works.” No matter what, it was time to go back and take a look.

“I also want to go back and see Grandpa.”

Back during that time of unrest, Song Ye’s grandfather suffered a lot, though he was later rehabilitated. Many years ago, after his mother died early, the Song family deliberately prevented the two siblings from contacting their grandfather’s side of the family, and so they lost all contact.

The university Song Qing got into wasn’t in Beijing but elsewhere. Later on, she chose not to return to the Song family and went abroad directly, and there was no news from Grandpa’s side either.

Song Ye had gotten busy in recent years and hadn’t thought about it again until now. Thinking of it now, he felt a bit guilty.

“Then we should definitely go back.”

“If Grandpa is willing, how about bringing him to live with us in Tang County?”

Song Ye laughed and gently pinched his wife’s cheek, a little moved. “Okay. If Grandpa is willing, then he’ll come live with us in Tang County. I’m sure Grandpa will really like Guo Guo.”

When the Tang family heard that Song Ye was going to bring their precious daughter back to the capital, everyone returned home and stared at him as if to warn, You better not let your family bully our Tang family’s treasure.

Even the five-year-old nephew had a serious look on his face and said, “Uncle, you have to protect my little aunt well.”

“Of course I’ll protect Guo Guo well.”

“Alright then, you can take my little aunt back.” The little nephew puffed out his chest and added, “But if she comes back and says she was wronged, Uncle, I’m going to challenge you to a duel.”

The child’s dramatic talk made everyone burst out laughing. It also reminded them of the kind of person Song Ye was. Judging by the way he pampered Tang Guo, he definitely wouldn’t let anyone bully her.
