A few clever people in the village, madly absorbing knowledge in the adult class, gradually became the most useful people under Song Ye.
As they learned more, understood more, and broadened their horizons, they slowly came to see Song Ye’s ambition. After a period of astonishment, they quietly followed Song Ye’s lead.
The people of Tangjia Village began to notice that their village was growing, with more and more residents. One day, they realized that the number of buildings in their village seemed to exceed those in the town, and they were comparable to the streets and buildings of half the county.
But no one said a word. Not even the county magistrate. Every time he thought of Song Ye and Tangjia Village, he sat smiling in his office chair, fantasizing about when he might get promoted.
Two years later, the city of Tangjia Village was larger than the county seat.
The county magistrate was promoted to mayor, the former deputy county magistrate became the new magistrate, and many people speculated whether the mayor’s ties with Tang Shouguo had grown distant.
It wasn’t long before news came that Tangjia Village had become Tang County. The county magistrate was Tang Shouguo, and the original town head had become Tang Tianyu.
Tangjia Village?
There was no Tangjia Village anymore, only Tang County.
But the old village site was still called Tangjia Village. However, it no longer represented a village, just a place name, a location within Tang County.
How could Tang County not have middle and high schools?
In Tang Guo’s set of drawings, there were already school plans. When the city was being built, the middle school and high school had already been constructed. Now they were just waiting for the schools to be officially approved, which was progressing quickly.
From that point on, Tang County had everything from preschool up to high school.
But everyone noticed that Tang County’s development continued. Its expansion speed had not slowed, and the economy continued to grow steadily.
In the original Tangjia Village area, every household had built beautiful villa-style buildings. The surrounding mountains had all been leased by Song Ye.
Part of the mountains were used for planting and poultry farming, while another part was developed into a peaceful retreat. During their free time, the people of Tangjia Village would stroll through the area and enjoy life.
At this point, Song Ye started to slow down.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to move faster, but the development of Tang County’s economy couldn’t be rushed. Many things needed to progress step by step, steadily.
Tang Guo would sometimes recall that all the buildings in Tang County were built by their family, and she would wake up from sleep with a smile on her face.
[Host, you two really are ambitious.]
“It’s alright. It’s just one Tang County. Hasn’t the country built even bigger things before? What’s one little county?”
The system felt a bit depressed. Yeah, that made sense, it was just a county. Why had he gotten so excited? He really was getting more childish with time.
The system realized he still had a long way to go before he could reach the host’s level of calm composure, unmoved by praise or insult. He needed to learn from the host.
Once Song Ye and Tang Guo had some free time, Luo Chunli, the ever-present childbearing pusher, appeared again.
“Guo Guo, you’ve been married for six years. You’re already twenty-four.”
Luo Chunli wore a worried look. “Your two brothers’ children are about to start kindergarten. Girl, it’s time you had a child.”
Her son-in-law was getting more outstanding by the day, but her daughter still hadn’t had a child. Her heart couldn’t help but feel unsettled.
The system felt a bit sorry for Luo Chunli. She was destined to get no results from her urging.
Seeing that she couldn’t persuade Tang Guo, Luo Chunli began to suspect something was wrong. She insisted on dragging her for a medical check-up. The result was completely normal. She then encouraged Tang Shouguo to take Song Ye for a check-up as well, and of course, that was also normal.
“Mom, see? This is heaven’s arrangement. There’s nothing wrong with our bodies. You don’t need to worry about children anymore.”
