By the time it was half past six, Tang Guo had finished her homework and packed her bag. She noticed that Wei Yue was still there and asked curiously, “Aren’t you going home?”
“The classroom is quite quiet, I’ll stay for a while,” Wei Yue replied absentmindedly.
“Oh, I’m going home. Take your time,” Tang Guo said.
As Tang Guo left the classroom and descended the stairs, she felt someone behind her. She turned around and saw Wei Yue slowly following behind. “Aren’t you staying?”
Wei Yue’s face looked unnatural, and he shouted, “You go your own way, what does it have to do with me? If I want to stay, I’ll stay. If I don’t want to, I won’t.”
After he finished shouting, he regretted it a bit. He turned his face away, afraid to see if the person in front of him would cry because of his outburst.
After waiting for a while, he realized that there was no movement. When he looked up, he saw that the area was empty, and Tang Guo’s figure had disappeared.
He panicked and quickly chased after her. He found her walking towards the school gate with her bag on her back, her pace neither fast nor slow. He ran fast and soon caught up with her.
He couldn’t tell anything from her profile; she wasn’t crying. He felt a bit flustered.
“Um… uh…”
Tang Guo stopped and looked back at him, “Why, is there anything else for classmate Wei?”
“I…”
Tang Guo narrowed her eyes, “Do you want to confess to me?”
Tang Guo stopped and looked back at him. “What’s wrong, Wei classmate? Do you have something else to say?”
“I…” Wei Yue hesitated.
Tang Guo squinted her eyes. “Are you going to confess to me?”
Wei Yue: “…”. He was still annoyed. Did this woman have a problem with her brain? He had shouted at her, but she didn’t seem angry.
But he wasn’t sure. Her tone just now was indeed too indifferent.
“I…”
“If you want to confess, hurry up. My family’s driver has been waiting for a long time.”
“I’m not going to confess to you!” Wei Yue turned around angrily and walked away. This hateful woman… he… he must be going crazy to be afraid of her getting angry. It was a bit unfair to think about it. He was just worried… Damn it, he really must be going crazy. How could he be worried about her?
The system sighed silently. It was a failure.
Watching Tang Guo get into the car, Wei Yue headed in the opposite direction. He looked back three times in one step to make sure there was no trace of the car before quickly running away.
Wei Yue arrived at the alley outside No. 2 Middle School, where many of his friends were waiting for him. When they saw him, they quickly flattered him.
“Boss, why are you so late today?”
Wei Yue’s face was cold. “Where’s Ma Mao?”
“Don’t worry, we’re keeping an eye on him. This time, he won’t get away.” There was a grudge between the boss and Ma Mao, and they all knew about it. They clashed frequently, almost every three days.
“Let’s go find him.”
Wei Yue’s imposing manner excited the people below. Today, with the boss here, they would definitely regain their reputation.
Before, when the boss was absent, some of their brothers were badly beaten by Ma Mao’s people.
Suddenly, Wei Yue remembered the face that was originally beautiful but now had a large, hideous scar. He stopped in his tracks.
“Did Ma Mao throw sulfuric acid on a girl?”
“Boss, why are you asking about this now?”
“Is it true?”
“Yes, the Ma family has suppressed this matter, and no news has come out. I heard that the girl is from No. 1 High School.”
Wei Yue clenched his fists, remained silent, and continued walking forward. After walking for a while, he stopped again, confusing his younger brothers.
“There’s a girl named Tang Guo in my class. Go and get to know her another day. Don’t bully her in the future, and if you see someone bullying her, make sure to step in and help.”
“Boss, is she our sister-in-law?” the brothers asked excitedly.
Wei Yue’s face turned sour. “No.”
Brothers: It must be. It definitely is.
“Remember that?”
“Yes, boss.” We’ll definitely protect our sister-in-law.
