Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 178

Tang Guo hid in the dark, watching as Zheng Song showed no suspicion about the origin of the woman who threw herself into his arms. Instead, he embraced her with a smile.

A faint smile curled up at the corner of her mouth, emitting a strong sense of malice that even the system dared not speak.

She stood there for a while. The invisibility charm she had collected from a fantasy world had a longer duration of effect.

After fifteen minutes, she heard the woman inside the room screaming in agony, and her smile grew wider.

With narrowed eyes, she thought of the daily encounters of the original owner in the Hou residence. Every time she heard the screaming in pain, she felt a sense of relief in her heart. It was truly a delightful feeling.

Feeling her improved mood, the system could sense it and spoke up, “Host, are you feeling satisfied now?”

“Let’s listen a little longer,” she replied.

Her words made it seem like she was enjoying a play, sending shivers down one’s spine.

The screams continued, and yet the courtyard remained eerily quiet. It was specially built by Master Hou for his second son, who lacked talent in cultivation. Master Hou wanted his son to live a happy and carefree life.

Another hour passed, and the sounds from inside diminished. Tang Guo then left the Hou residence.

As soon as she stepped out, she saw Ye Zhou.

Although she had the invisibility charm on her, Tang Guo could tell that Ye Zhou had already seen her.

She wasn’t surprised, as Ye Zhou’s strength was supposed to be formidable.

“It’s late, cousin. What if something happens to you while wandering around?” Ye Zhou approached her, seemingly unaware of anything, and held Tang Guo’s hand. In the next moment, the surroundings changed.

Tang Guo took a closer look and realized that it was her own courtyard.

Ye Zhou was only in his twenties, yet his strength was immeasurable. He truly lived up to his reputation as a cultivation fanatic.

“Cousin, could you let go of my hand?” Tang Guo smiled.

Under the moonlight, Ye Zhou’s fiery red robe complemented his handsome appearance. There was a hint of a smile on his face, making him look somewhat silly during the day, but at this moment, he had a touch of enchantment.

Rather than releasing her hand, Ye Zhou tightened his grip and said with caution, “Cousin, may I hold your hand again?”

Tang Guo was taken aback for a moment, then chuckled, “Cousin, don’t joke around. Your cultivation is not inferior to those hidden experts. You have a bright future ahead, so why hold my hand?”

“Cousin, you understand,” Ye Zhou’s gaze was serious. On the way to the Hou residence, he had already made up his mind. He was probably fond of her, fond of this arrogant and strong little girl.

Knowing that Tang Guo was going to be married to the Hou second son, he felt nothing but anger in his heart.

At that moment, his true self couldn’t be hidden beneath his appearance any longer. He couldn’t wait to reveal it.

Seeing Tang Guo throwing Aunt Lou into Zheng Song’s room, all that remained in his heart was satisfaction. He wished he could be the one doing it.

Those who plotted against his cousin deserved such a lesson.

“Does cousin mean you regret it now?” Tang Guo asked.

Ye Zhou nodded, “I regret it.”

“Then do you remember what I said when I decided to call off the engagement?”

Ye Zhou pursed his lips, a hint of grievance in his eyes. “Cousin… everyone makes mistakes.”

“I hold grudges!”

“I am a person of my word.”

“And I don’t like going back on my decisions, no matter how good the situation may be.”

“Guo’er…”

Ye Zhou shed his previous facade and looked at Tang Guo pitifully, as if saying that she would be the villain if she didn’t give him a chance. But Tang Guo remained unmoved.
