Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 850

“You actually hit me?”

Fang Siyun shouted, her face full of grievance as tears instantly rolled down her cheeks.

Ning Xiangsi had not expected that on the day after her daughter’s birthday, Fang Yunchi would slap her out of nowhere.

“Fang Yunchi, what are you doing?” Ning Xiangsi called out his full name. “Have you lost your mind?”

When Fang Yunchi saw Fang Siyun standing there with tears streaming down her face, he immediately regretted that slap.

“Sisi…”

“Don’t call me that. I don’t have a father like you. You’ve never once spent my birthday with me because of catching ghosts, and now you hit me for no reason.” Fang Siyun covered her already swollen cheek. “I finally understand. In your eyes, Mom and I aren’t as important as catching ghosts. Ever since I can remember, you’ve never celebrated my birthday with me. Fine, forget about me. You can’t even remember Mom’s birthday every year. You always come back days later, excitedly talking about how many ghosts you killed.”

“Kill ghosts, kill ghosts. In your eyes, there are only ghosts. I just mentioned the legendary Tang Guo, and you slapped me. You’re too extreme. She’s clearly good. You…”

Smack.

Neither Ning Xiangsi nor Fang Siyun had expected that Fang Yunchi would slap her again.

“Fang Yunchi!”

Ning Xiangsi shoved Fang Yunchi away and pulled Fang Siyun into her arms, seeing that her other cheek had also been struck. Her own eyes reddened. “What does this have to do with Siyun? Is there any need to hit her like this? She’s telling the truth. Over these years, aside from catching ghosts, how much time have you spent at home?”

Fang Siyun stopped crying and glared at Fang Yunchi. “Fine. You hit me again. Fang Yunchi, from today on, I, Fang Siyun, don’t have a father like you.”

After saying that, she pushed past Ning Xiangsi, ran into her room, grabbed her bag, and rushed out.

Ning Xiangsi’s face turned pale. “I’m going after her.”

Fang Yunchi grabbed her arm. “Go after her for what? She’s already so old and still doesn’t know how to speak properly. She deserved it. What kind of good ghost is Tang Guo? She’s an evil ghost. Sooner or later, I’ll capture her and kill her.”

“I don’t know who spread all that misleading information, making so many people worship a ghost. It’s ridiculous.”

“Even my daughter, Fang Yunchi’s daughter, admires a ghost. What a joke. I’m a ghost-catching Daoist, and my daughter worships a ghost. If that gets out, what a disgrace. Does Fang Siyun even realize how embarrassing that is for me?”

“I think you’re the ridiculous one. You’re the unreasonable one.” Ning Xiangsi looked at Fang Yunchi, who was completely obsessed, and could not help recalling the advice those elders had given her years ago, telling her to leave him. She had once cared deeply about this relationship and believed she could persuade him.

She had not expected that on the third day after their wedding, he would receive a task saying an evil ghost was causing trouble.

Ignoring her pleas, he left during their honeymoon. Back then, she had understood him and even pitied him. From his standpoint, what he did seemed justified.

But later… later they barely saw each other a few times a year.

Even during their brief reunions, she could still feel that their feelings had not changed. Yet who did not want to see the person they loved as often as possible?

When she gave birth to Fang Siyun, she had labored in the hospital for most of the day. She had called Fang Yunchi, and he had promised he would return immediately.
