No matter who it was, everyone wanted to know Tang Guo’s whereabouts. There were always people who wanted to control her.
But more than ten years passed, and she remained the same. No one could control her.

He had only one attitude toward ghosts: kill.
He also married Ning Xiangsi. When Ning Xiangsi learned that she was truly pregnant with a daughter, she faintly felt that the bead Tang Guo had given her years ago carried deeper meaning.
The bead looked ordinary. When she took it out and said she had bought it herself and planned to let her daughter wear it, Fang Yunchi saw nothing unusual.
That only made her feel the bead was extraordinary. After her daughter was born, she strung the bead onto a chain and let her wear it close to her body, telling her that no matter what happened, she must never take it off.
Ning Xiangsi’s daughter was named Fang Siyun. Aside from his obsession with catching ghosts, Fang Yunchi treated Ning Xiangsi very well in other aspects.
Even now, their relationship remained fairly good.
However, as more than ten years passed, Fang Yunchi grew increasingly obsessed with killing Tang Guo. When encountering ghosts by chance, he showed no mercy.
Even when Ning Xiangsi tried to persuade him, he would not listen.
This year was their daughter’s sixteenth birthday.
Mother and daughter waited from noon until late at night, but Fang Yunchi did not return.
Seeing the disappointment in her daughter’s eyes, Ning Xiangsi felt a pang in her heart and gently touched her head. “Your father is just busy.”
“Mom, why is it always like this?” Fang Siyun did not understand why Fang Yunchi was so determined to kill ghosts without exception. “I don’t think all ghosts are bad. Dad kills every ghost he sees. He even forgets my birthday because of it. How many times has this been? Since I was little, he has never once spent my birthday with me.”
Ning Xiangsi did not know how to explain it. She could only comfort her. “Your father has his own beliefs. We should respect him. Having Mom with you for your birthday is the same.”
“It’s alright, Mom. I know what you’re trying to say. You don’t feel good about it either, do you? Other families have both parents together every day. I barely see Dad a few times a year. You must feel worse than I do. Mom, let’s blow out the candles and make a wish.”
Seeing that her daughter was not dwelling on it, Ning Xiangsi felt slightly relieved.
The next day, Fang Yunchi finally returned.
As soon as he came back, he said to them, “This time I went out and killed quite a few evil ghosts.”
“Congratulations,” Ning Xiangsi replied, though her tone was not warm as she saw the excitement on his face.
Fang Yunchi noticed and quickly stepped forward to hug her. “Xiangsi, what’s wrong? Are you angry?”
“Shouldn’t I be?” Ning Xiangsi frowned. “Do you remember what yesterday was?”
“What was yesterday?”
Watching Fang Yunchi think, Ning Xiangsi felt a spark of anger.
Fang Siyun could not hold back any longer. “What day was it? Dad, did you forget my birthday again? You always forget my birthday because of catching ghosts. It’s fine if you don’t celebrate with me, but you can’t even remember it.”
“I’m sorry, Sisi. That was my fault,” Fang Yunchi apologized.
Fang Siyun was still upset. “Not all ghosts are bad. I think that legendary female ghost Tang Guo is actually pretty good. I really don’t understand…”
Smack.
Fang Siyun had not expected to be slapped mid-sentence.
Her eyes widened as she looked at Fang Yunchi. “You hit me?”
