Qin Jiu wrapped an arm around his ghost wife’s slender waist and said calmly, “As long as I’m here, you can’t kill her. Even without me, you still couldn’t.”
That sentence nearly made Fang Yunchi cough up blood.
Yet it was the truth. He could only glare at the two of them.
“Everyone, we’ll be going now,” Tang Guo said with a smile, greeting the Daoists. Her brows curved gently. “Ah Jiu told me you’re all ghost-catching Daoists. I’m a ghost. Why don’t you come catch me?”
“We wouldn’t dare, we wouldn’t dare,” they quickly shook their heads with wry smiles. “How could we possibly provoke you?”
If she was not a Ghost King, she was at least a Ghost Sovereign.
Better not to provoke her.
Besides, the people in that village were all evil. What she did to them was not something they could interfere with.
They also noticed that the heavy yin energy from before had disappeared. It must have something to do with her. Had she devoured those little ghosts?
But considering what she had done, she likely would not devour them.
Unable to suppress their curiosity, someone asked, “Miss Tang, what about the little ghosts who died unjustly in the village?”
“Them?” Tang Guo replied casually. “I helped them transcend and sent them to reincarnation. They’ve wandered as lonely ghosts for so many years. That’s pitiful enough. Since we’re of the same kind, I kindly gave them a hand.”
The crowd froze.

Could a ghost really perform transcendence for other ghosts?
But when they remembered what kind of ghost she was, their doubts faded.
Perhaps this ghost was truly different.
Under everyone’s gaze, Tang Guo drifted onto Qin Jiu’s back, wrapping her arms around his neck as the two of them left together.
In all her years as a wandering spirit, she still preferred resting on Qin Jiu’s back. She smiled and said to him, “This time I didn’t act. It was the little ghosts who did. Fang Yunchi is furious.”
“Let’s go to the next place. The little ghosts just sent me word. They’ve discovered several more villages like this.”
“Alright.”
Qin Jiu liked her leaning on his back. Listening to her talk about these things made him feel as though the first twenty-plus years of his life had been wasted. Twenty years was truly short. Without noticing, more than two years had already passed.
A trace of sadness rose in his heart, but he quickly steadied himself. He needed to cultivate diligently.
“Brother Fang, let’s go too,” Ning Xiangsi tugged at Fang Yunchi, who was still glaring. Seeing him like this, she felt a pang of concern. “Why don’t we find somewhere to relax for a while?”
“No.” Fang Yunchi sheathed his sword and said, “Xiangsi, I need to visit a temple immediately and seek help from Master Mingxuan. His Buddhist cultivation is profound. He will definitely be able to eliminate that ghost.”
Ning Xiangsi felt reluctant. Tang Guo had not harmed innocent people. She had only dealt with those villains. Why seek someone to destroy her?
But seeing Fang Yunchi’s expression, she could only nod.
She thought to herself that Tang Guo was so powerful. Surely Master Mingxuan would not be able to capture her so easily.
“Is Master Mingxuan really that powerful?”
“Are you certain he can defeat Tang Guo?” she asked. “What if he fails?”
“Impossible. Master Mingxuan is far stronger than my master. He rarely acts, but once he does, he will definitely capture that female ghost.” He had not intended to seek Master Mingxuan, but he could not allow that ghost to continue her actions.
Ning Xiangsi’s heart skipped. That powerful?
She pressed her lips together, feeling uneasy.
“Xiangsi, go home first. I’ll find Master Mingxuan and then come see you.”
Without waiting for her reply, he left.
Ning Xiangsi did not mind, recalling earlier events.
Once Fang Yunchi had gone far, she turned to the others. “Seniors.”
“Xiangsi, what is it?”
“Can you contact Tang Guo?”
The crowd looked at one another, not understanding why.
