But seeing Fang Yunchi so distressed, Ning Xiangsi quickly forced those thoughts out of her mind.
“Brother Fang, are you alright?” she asked worriedly. “We can’t defeat her.”
Watching Tang Guo cripple those men, she felt a faint sense of satisfaction.
She remembered that a few months after what happened in that mountain village, something had occurred at her school.
There was a girl who rented a place off campus. One day, when the teacher called roll, they realized she was absent.
They tried calling her, but there was no answer. They contacted her parents, and she had not gone home either.
Later, someone suggested checking the apartment she rented.
The door was locked. They asked the landlord for the key and opened it. As soon as they entered, they sensed something was wrong. The place was in disarray. In the bedroom, they found the girl dead.
The final report stated that she had first been assaulted, then strangled.
After that incident, her parents began picking her up from school every day.
She had seen the girl’s parents. They had cried bitterly, shouting that they wanted the rapist cut into pieces.
When she returned home, her own parents discussed the matter, saying such a person truly deserved to be cut into pieces. If something like that happened to their daughter, they could never accept it.
She knew they were not joking.
Because of that incident, she had begun to understand Tang Guo’s actions back then.
Now, watching Tang Guo deal with these men, she no longer had the urge to stop her.
The perpetrator in that case had only been caught last year.
The girl’s parents had spent countless efforts searching for him. When she saw them again on the news, she barely recognized them. They had aged more than twenty years. Their hair had turned white, though they were only around forty.
“One day, I, Fang Yunchi, will personally make her soul scatter.”
When Ning Xiangsi heard him say that, she no longer felt the same agreement. “Brother Fang, it’s those people who committed many evils. The little ghosts taking revenge is understandable. Tang Guo is so powerful. Perhaps we should just let it be.”
She even thought that with Tang Guo around, maybe trafficking would no longer happen.
The case of that girl from her school had changed many of her previous views, especially remembering how her parents had cursed the criminal every day during that time, and the image of the girl’s parents who had aged beyond recognition.
Wasn’t all of this caused by evil people?
If social rules could not punish them, then having someone like Tang Guo exist was not entirely bad. At least many young girls like her would not be trafficked here to suffer and die in the future.
“Impossible.”
Fang Yunchi said stubbornly. No matter what, he would kill Tang Guo.
The Buddhist light around Tang Guo had already faded, and she had returned to her usual appearance. She drifted upward. Not long after she left, Fang Yunchi drew his sword and chased after her.
The moment he saw Tang Guo, he charged without hesitation.
This time Tang Guo did not act. Qin Jiu simply lifted his leg and kicked Fang Yunchi down.
“Tang Guo, I will not let you go.” Fang Yunchi struggled up from the ground, his eyes bloodshot with hatred. His sword trembled in his hand. “And you, Qin Jiu. From today on, you are both my enemies. One day, I, Fang Yunchi, will kill every ghost in this world. As long as I live, not a single ghost will remain.”
