As for Fang Yunchi and Tang Lusheng waiting outside the villa, more than an hour had passed and Fang Tianshi still had not come out. Both of them felt an ominous sense in their hearts.
Fang Yunchi could no longer wait. He tried once more to force open the villa door and enter.
Unexpectedly, when he pushed the door, it opened lightly on its own. Standing at the doorway with his wooden sword in hand, his expression cautious, he heard no sound from inside.
That alone made him feel even more uneasy. He stepped in carefully. After only a couple of steps, he saw Fang Tianshi lying on the ground. He cried out, “Master!” and rushed over.
He had thought Fang Tianshi was merely injured. He never imagined that upon closer inspection, Fang Tianshi had no breath left. He called out several times in terror, but Fang Tianshi did not stir. Only then did he finally accept that Fang Tianshi was dead.
He could not comprehend how someone with such high cultivation could simply die like this. He had waited outside the villa the entire time without hearing the slightest disturbance.
Tang Lusheng followed him inside. Seeing that Fang Tianshi was dead, he grew even more frightened. Without saying a word to Fang Yunchi, he clutched his child and ran out.
If even Fang Tianshi could not destroy that ghost, it must be extremely powerful.
For now, it was better to leave. Compared to money, he valued his life more.
Even if he wanted to eliminate the ghost in the villa, he no longer had the funds to hire anyone.
He could only hope that the ghost who had stripped him of all his wealth, perhaps his eldest daughter’s ghost, merely wanted to make him suffer a little. Maybe once her anger subsided, she would go reincarnate.
Cold sweat covered Tang Lusheng’s body. He remembered Fang Tianshi mentioning that setting up a mourning hall was meant to bring back the spirit of someone who had died outside. He thought to himself that once things settled down, he would definitely set up a mourning hall for his eldest daughter. When she returned and her resentment dissipated, she would surely go to reincarnate.
Perhaps, perhaps if he coaxed her a little, she might even find a way to recover his assets.
Thinking this way, Tang Lusheng felt less afraid.
His eldest daughter had died long ago. She certainly did not know about Song Xiaoyun’s death, nor could she know what he truly thought.
When he invited her spirit back, if he spoke kindly, she was only around twenty now. Their father daughter relationship had once been fairly good.
Tang Lusheng’s fear faded. Then he remembered he now possessed nothing and felt annoyed. Reaching into his pocket, he found a key. It was the key to the old Tang family villa, the one that still had not been sold.
After some thought, he carried his young son and went to that villa.
Under the current circumstances, he would live there temporarily.
Inside the original villa, only Fang Yunchi remained, staring at Fang Tianshi’s body, which bore no wounds and was already losing warmth.
“Master…” Fang Yunchi’s voice choked. He scanned the surroundings but found no trace of a ghost. He did not know whether the ghost had perished together with Fang Tianshi or had left.
In the end, he had no choice but to carry Fang Tianshi’s body away.
Fang Yunchi felt that this matter was far from simple. He posted news of Fang Tianshi’s death in their circle’s group chat.
“Respected seniors, I, Fang Yunchi, ask for your assistance in finding the female ghost who killed my master. I do not yet know whether she still exists. Once she is found, I will handle the rest myself. I will certainly offer a generous reward.”
