Tang Guo floated into the villa. Fang Tianshi followed closely behind, rushing in with his sword in hand. Fang Yunchi also wanted to enter, but as soon as Fang Tianshi went inside, the door suddenly shut. Fang Yunchi tried to break in, only to discover he could not open it at all.
For a moment, he could only wait anxiously at the door.
“Little Master, Master Fang won’t run into any trouble, will he?” Tang Lusheng asked worriedly. “Is that ghost really my eldest daughter?”
“Judging from my master’s reaction, it should be,” Fang Yunchi said, concern on his face. Seeing Tang Lusheng’s troubled expression, he comforted him. “Mr. Tang, don’t worry. My master’s cultivation is high. He has captured many fierce ghosts before. The ghost inside won’t be able to do anything to him. Soon he will seize it. From now on, you won’t be disturbed again.”
“Yes, I trust Master Fang.”
Tang Lusheng looked worried, yet a trace of ruthlessness flashed in his eyes. Fang Tianshi had better destroy that ghost inside. Those two, mother and daughter, were both troublesome.
They should have stayed dead instead of coming back.
The thought that all his assets were gone only deepened his hatred. He even wished he could rush in and destroy the ghost himself. But recalling what he had experienced over the past few days, a chill ran down his back.
Qin Jiu stood in a corner. In the end, still uneasy, he quietly circled around to another side of the villa. But the security system was too good. He could not get in.
With no other option, he could only wait outside, worry written all over his face.
An hour passed. Qin Jiu was no longer calm. His palms were covered in sweat.
He stared at the silent villa. Just as he was about to damage the security system and rush in with his sword, Tang Guo floated out of a window.
She drifted directly to him, brushed lightly past his front, and then settled onto his back. The cold touch made his whole body tense, yet he did not tell her to get down.
He only asked nervously, “Are you hurt?”
“No.”
Tang Guo wrapped her arms around his neck. Feeling his stiffness, she leaned close to his ear and said, “Daoist Qin, you’re very nervous about me.”
“Yes.” Qin Jiu did not deny it. “I was afraid Fang Tianshi might actually capture you.”
Tang Guo laughed pleasantly and remained draped over his back. Though she was light as if weightless, Qin Jiu could clearly feel her presence.
At first her touch was cool, almost cold, but after a while it became bearable. As a cultivator, he could withstand this bit of yin energy.
“If I had lost to Fang Tianshi and been taken away by him, wouldn’t that mean you profited?”
“No. I am a man of integrity. I would have rescued you from him.”
Tang Guo asked with a smile, “Can Daoist Qin defeat him?”
“I have an immortal sword. I should be able to defeat him,” Qin Jiu said without modesty. “Even without the immortal sword, I’m confident I could defeat him. He specializes in catching ghosts. In a duel of spells, he might not surpass me.”
“I never expected Daoist Qin to be so self assured,” Tang Guo said softly. “Daoist Qin, how do you feel about me now? Are you interested in a romance between a human and a ghost?”
“How is Fang Tianshi?” Qin Jiu asked.
Tang Guo did not mind his change of subject. “He? He’s dead. Now he’s one of the wandering ghosts.”
“Really?”
At that moment, a cry came from inside the villa. “Master! Master!”
It was Fang Yunchi.
Hearing this, Qin Jiu knew she had not lied. “Where do you want to go now?” This female ghost was decisive. If she said she would kill Fang Tianshi, she truly killed him.
