When he pushed open the door, sure enough, he saw the small curled-up figure under the blanket.
He tiptoed over, afraid of waking her. When he saw her white little feet sticking out, he couldn’t help himself. He reached over, gently cupped them in his hands, and tucked them back under the covers. The touch was so smooth he didn’t want to let go.
Only now did he understand why the Tang family spoiled her so much, wishing they could lift her up to the heavens. He wanted to do the same now.
Song Ye felt that this girl was like a drug and he was already addicted.
As he thought about it, he looked at that curled-up little bundle and started to laugh. The more he thought about how she was actually his wife now, the bigger his smile grew.
Tang Guo lifted the blanket and peeked out, her beautiful eyes fixed on him.
She was eighteen, and Song Ye was twenty.
He had been in Tangjia Village for quite some time. Even with daily sun exposure, he still looked very handsome. At most, his fair skin had turned wheat-colored, which actually suited him better.
Song Ye was smiling when he suddenly felt someone watching him. He looked up and met those pitch-black eyes, and was startled.
The girl’s cheeks were fair with a rosy tint, truly beautiful, making him feel an urge to reach out and pinch them.
He swallowed and walked softly to the bedside, his voice especially low, “Did I wake you?”
“No.”
Tang Guo shook her head, her gaze never shifting, fixed on Song Ye’s face. Song Ye felt a bit uncomfortable under her stare, his ears turning red. Being looked at like that by his beautiful wife, he was really a little embarrassed.
“Are you hungry?”
“I already had two steamed buns.”
She spoke with a smile that curved her lips sweetly, nearly making Song Ye dizzy.
The day he arrived in the village, he knew this girl was beautiful. But seeing her up close, she was even more stunning. Now she was his wife. He’d be looking at this face every day. He felt like he was dreaming.
It wasn’t that he hadn’t seen the world. He had met plenty of beautiful girls, but he was certain that none of them were as beautiful as her.
Tang Guo reached out both hands from under the covers. “Help me up.”
Her soft voice melted his heart. He quickly stepped forward and gently pulled her up by the arms, afraid he’d hurt her if he used too much strength.
Tang Guo leaned into his arms, hugging his waist, and whispered, “So cute.” Then she chuckled and said to the system, “This guy is so cute in this world.”
[Host…] Wishing you a joyful life in this world.
Song Ye had no idea what to do. Being hugged by such a soft little body made his whole body tense.
“Song Ye, we’re married.”
Song Ye’s expression grew much more serious as he replied, “Mm, I will take responsibility for you.” He said it willingly. It was a thought that had formed in his heart during their brief interaction just now. They were already married. In this life, she was his wife.
“You can’t just take responsibility, you also have to love me and dote on me.”
“Yes.” Song Ye didn’t even hesitate. Then he added seriously, “Guo Guo, I’ll treat you well. You are my wife.”
Tang Guo let go of him, slipped on her shoes, and went to the kitchen. She brought back the two remaining steamed buns and placed them in his hands. With a serious face, she said, “You must be hungry. Eat, only then will you have strength to work.”
