Tang Guo leaned close to his ear and whispered, “From today on, you are still the High Priest. You are the High Priest of the entire Mata Kingdom. But I prefer to call you by your name, Ah Yao.”
Yin Yao revealed his most beautiful smile, kissed the corner of her lips, and felt deeply satisfied. His large hand rested on her slim waist and refused to let go. He had never held her like this before, but once he did, he found it hard to release her.
Only with her in his arms did he feel at ease.
Tang Guo soon instructed people to prepare a table full of delicious food. Yin Yao stared in surprise at the dishes he had never seen before.
He then looked at the containers holding the food. They were far better than the stone vessels used in the past and looked much more refined.
“These containers are fired pottery. If Ah Yao is interested, you can go take a look later. King Xili is very generous. He would not mind you visiting,” Tang Guo said as she spoke, placing food into Yin Yao’s bowl.
The female attendants serving the dishes twitched their lips slightly. King Xili being generous? Clearly the most generous one was Sage Ah Guoguo herself. Were these things not all taken out by her? Still, those thoughts stayed in their hearts. None of them would interrupt at a time like this. After serving the food, they quietly withdrew.
Yin Yao ate the delicious food he had never tasted before, holding the most beautiful female in his arms. He felt incomparably content. Hearing that all of this had been brought to the Mata Kingdom by Ah Guoguo filled him with shock and pride.
Ah Guoguo is amazing. That was his first thought.
Ah Guoguo is my mate. That was his second thought.
After eating, Tang Guo took Yin Yao around the Mata Kingdom. Wherever she wanted to go, almost no one dared to stop her, except for the sleeping quarters of Xili and Queen Xili. Even there, with a simple report, she could likely enter freely, but she had no interest in doing so.
Yin Yao truly witnessed Tang Guo’s wisdom. Later, he no longer refused the position of High Priest of the Mata Kingdom, also known as the Royal Sage.
The beastmen of the Mata Kingdom erupted in cheers. Sage Ah Guoguo was their sage, and her mate was their Royal Sage. Their Mata Kingdom was only getting better. With their growing population, perhaps next year they could even request King Xili to expand into new territory.
Those old beast skins Tang Guo had prepared earlier were personally inscribed by her with methods for treating illnesses and injuries. As long as Yin Yao mastered what was written on them, it would be enough to handle the pains and diseases of the beastman world. Clearly, Yin Yao did not disappoint her.
This time, however, Yin Yao brought back another piece of news.
“This time I followed them much deeper. That is why I came back so late.”
That night, the two sat on the roof, gazing at the glittering stars in the sky, their hands clasped together.
“I saw with my own eyes those beasts rushing into something like a barrier and disappearing.”
A barrier?
Tang Guo pressed her lips together slightly. A barrier visible to the naked eye, one that beasts could pass through, could only be one thing.
A boundary formation.
She had already confirmed that the beastman world had no mystical powers. So why did a boundary formation exist?
What she needed to know now was whether that boundary was natural or created by someone.
If it was natural, that would be one thing. If it was man made, then the problem was serious.
“I did not go inside,” Yin Yao said. Holding Tang Guo, free of any other intent, filled only with pure affection, he kissed her forehead.
