The guard leading Yin Yao inside said cheerfully, “We thank Sage Ah Guoguo for bringing us abundant supplies, and we thank the gods for granting her to our Mata Kingdom. Lord Yin Yao, you are truly fortunate to be Sage Ah Guoguo’s only mate.”
Yin Yao’s expression did not change, but inwardly he was shocked. All of this was brought to the Mata Kingdom by Ah Guoguo?
“Sage Ah Guoguo truly is, just as the king said, the most intelligent sage in the beastman world.”
Yin Yao paid close attention and noticed that many beastmen around them were smiling brightly. Whenever someone asked about the new items they carried or used, they would proudly say that they were made by Sage Ah Guoguo. Sage Ah Guoguo was the most intelligent sage of the Mata Kingdom. She was not merely a sage, she was like a god.
As Yin Yao passed through the streets on the way to the palace, his face was full of smiles. His Ah Guoguo was truly amazing.
“Sage Ah Guoguo lives here. This is her private palace. Without her permission, no one is allowed to step inside,” the guard said with clear envy. “But Sage Ah Guoguo has said that Lord Yin Yao may come and go freely, without needing her permission.”
That look of envy filled Yin Yao with pride. He even enjoyed being looked at with admiration because of Ah Guoguo.
After bidding the guard farewell, he pushed the door open. The moment he touched it, he paused in surprise. The door was made of wood, carved with exquisite patterns he had never seen before. It was unfamiliar, yet undeniably beautiful.
With a mixture of nervousness and excitement, he walked inside. At a glance, he saw Tang Guo focused on several strange containers. His steps quickened as he called out, “Ah Guoguo, I am back.”
He rushed to her side, lifted her small body into his arms, and kissed her cheeks without restraint. Then he pressed his forehead against hers and looked closely at her face. Her complexion was rosy, and she was even more beautiful than before. She had not suffered. Only then did Yin Yao finally relax.
Tang Guo wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him on the cheek before smiling. “High Priest, it has been more than half a year. You finally came back.”
“I am sorry, Ah Guoguo. I came back too late and let you be wronged.”
“Then you have to help me get revenge,” Tang Guo said.
Yin Yao nodded. “I should help Ah Guoguo take revenge. Earlier, I was too anxious and only wanted to find you as soon as possible. I forgot about revenge. Ah Guoguo, how do you want to deal with them?”
“Are you hungry?” Tang Guo reached up and touched Yin Yao’s cheek, then tugged it lightly. “You have lost a lot of weight. You do not look as good as before.”
“I will gain it back soon,” Yin Yao said, feeling slightly flustered. If he did not look good, would Ah Guoguo dislike him?
Tang Guo pushed him gently. “Put me down first. I will have someone prepare some food for you. Eat first, we can talk after you are full.”
Yin Yao listened obediently. When he was back with the Lado Tribe and heard that Ah Guoguo had been handed over to the Mata Kingdom, it felt as if something inside him had been hollowed out. Only now, seeing her again, did that emptiness finally fill. Ah Guoguo had become a part of his heart. He could not live without her.
He held her and did not let go. Rubbing his chin against her cheek, he changed his posture, sat down on a stone stool, and kept her in his arms. “Ah Guoguo does not need to move. This should be fine.”
Tang Guo pressed her lips together in a smile. “Alright, as you wish, High Priest.”
“Yin Yao,” he said softly. “Call me by my name. I am no longer the High Priest.”
