Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 699

“What do we do now?”

Aimo asked, “Without the High Priest, we have no one who knows how to treat illness. Many of the cubs cannot hold on any longer.”

“If we had known the High Priest valued Ah Guoguo so much, we never should have let her go to the Mata Kingdom.”

“But we did not send Ah Guoguo there. We did not tie her up and force her to go. It was Vigo who acted on his own and seized Ah Guoguo, then handed her over to the Mata Kingdom warriors.”

“Strictly speaking, this has nothing to do with us. The High Priest is blaming all of us just because Vigo made a mistake.”

Ning Luo wanted to speak up for Vigo, but she did not know how. She knew what they were saying was wrong, yet she could not find the words to refute them. She stood there, anxious and miserable.

Vigo, on the other hand, let out a soft laugh and pulled Ning Luo into his arms. “Good Luo Luo, do not bother with them. You will get used to it.” He spoke with clear disdain. “That is exactly why I said back then that I would take on the role of the villain myself. These beastmen are nothing like us snake folk. If it were not for being with you, I would not even bother associating with them.”

“Vigo, how can they talk about you like this? They clearly wanted to hand Ah Guoguo over as well,” Ning Luo said. She was not foolish and could see part of the truth. It made her feel deeply uncomfortable.

Vigo did not care. He only looked at Ning Luo with gentleness. “I already told you not to mind them. Luo Luo, I do not care about any of that. The only one I protect is you, Ning Luo.”

Ning Luo, who had been angry, could not help but blush at those words.

Black Wolf, however, was troubled by the illnesses spreading among the members. Without the High Priest, they had no way to treat anyone. The members who had spoken earlier had offended Ning Luo. Even if she had a solution, she would not be willing to help them.

As a result, their pace slowed. Along the way, several cubs died, and conflicts grew more frequent.

Still, their journey was far from over. They planned to head deep into the forest, to a place very far from the Mata Kingdom, so that the Mata Kingdom would no longer be able to find them.

On the other side, Yin Yao hurried toward the Mata Kingdom. In his snow white wolf form, he ran straight to the outskirts of the Mata Kingdom’s city. He was just about to let out a long howl to announce that he had come to take someone back, when he was caught off guard by the sight of the guards stationed at the city gates stepping forward with great respect.

“May I ask, are you Lord Yin Yao?”

The king had issued an order. If a snow wolf appeared at the Mata Kingdom, they were to treat him with utmost respect. The king had also said that this snow wolf was the mate of Sage Ah Guoguo.

Seeing him in person, he truly was unlike any ordinary snow wolf. Even before asking, the guards were almost certain this was Yin Yao, Sage Ah Guoguo’s mate.

Yin Yao felt puzzled. The Mata Kingdom guard standing before him wore an ingratiating smile and addressed him so respectfully, even calling him Lord Yin Yao. It made him wonder if the man had lost his mind.

“Lord Yin Yao, Sage Ah Guoguo has been waiting for you for a long time. Would you like to go see her right away?”

Yin Yao still had questions, but the moment he heard the name Ah Guoguo, nothing else mattered. Right now, he only wanted to see her, his Ah Guoguo.

“I want to see her.” His voice was hoarse, his eyes slightly burning. They called his Ah Guoguo a sage, so she was doing well, right?

As he stepped into the Mata Kingdom’s city and took in the extraordinary sight of its stone-built structures, unlike anything he had seen before, Yin Yao was deeply shaken.
