Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 659

“That’s the cave.”

Tang Guo pointed to a spot not far ahead, but when Yin Yao followed her gesture, he couldn’t see any cave at all. Just as doubt was rising in his mind, she added, “I covered the entrance with grass. I think there might be more inside, so we can come back another time.”

“Ah Guoguo is very clever.”

Tang Guo didn’t bother with modesty. “That’s right.”

Yin Yao’s eyes curved with a smile. He didn’t take her words as boasting, his praise was sincere. Ah Guoguo truly was clever. Whatever she learned, she picked up after being shown only once.

He could even say that the meat soup and barbecue she made were the best in the whole tribe, better than anything Ning Luo could prepare.

System: That’s because she’s an old fox.

Tang Guo led Yin Yao to the front of the cave, shaking her arm as she said, “High Priest, you can let go of my hand now. I won’t get lost here.”

The way she said it made it sound like he’d been holding on for his own sake.

Yin Yao released her hand, but the warmth slipping from his palm left a trace of disappointment. Fine, he had to admit, he really did want to keep holding that little hand forever.

Tang Guo pushed aside the grass, revealing a cave entrance tall enough for a person to walk through. From the opening, it was clear the space inside was fairly large.

She smiled at the sight. Digging out this cave had taken a lot of effort. Since this world had no spiritual energy she could use for cultivation, she’d had to rely on a few tools from her system space and dig it out herself.

Next time she went to the modern world, she really ought to buy a few excavators so she wouldn’t have to work so hard to dig out a single cave.

System: The host is a devil. Why not just enroll at Lanxiang while you’re at it?

“High Priest, let’s go in.”

Tang Guo nimbly crawled inside first. Since she’d dug the cave herself, she knew exactly what was inside and that it was safe. Yin Yao didn’t even have time to stop her, hurrying after her into the cave.

Once inside, they found the space was even larger than it had appeared from outside.

Yin Yao paused, deep in thought. This was a very hidden place and could be a safe refuge. If the tribe’s members hid here during the beast tide and sealed the entrance, perhaps it could work.

Tang Guo caught the look in his eyes and knew exactly what he was thinking.

She had no intention of fighting wild beasts head-on. She’d already planned to find a safe place for herself, which was why she had gone to the trouble of making this cave.

Of course, that wasn’t her only goal. The second was to leave some things here that would interest Yin Yao. The time was drawing near, and she needed to plan carefully.

System: I thought that the host had forgotten all about scheming while falling in love, but turns out she’s doing both at the same time. How is your brain not tired?

The cave’s entrance was only tall enough for one person to pass through, so the light inside was dim.

They groped around as they searched. Yin Yao was especially thorough, and soon enough, he found several pieces of beast hide and some items with an unusual texture, all of which he gathered up.

Finally, on one wall of the cave, he felt a loose stone. With a gentle push, it fell away with a clatter. He stepped back quickly, pulling Tang Guo behind him to shield her.

Tang Guo was quite satisfied with his reaction. Hugging his arm, she asked, “What happened?”

System: Drama queen.
