Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 660

“It seems there’s a passage here.”

Yin Yao spoke, hesitating a little. He wasn’t sure if there might be danger inside. If he were alone, he wouldn’t think twice about going in.

But now, with Ah Guoguo beside him, he wasn’t certain he could keep her safe if something happened. She wasn’t an adult yet. Even if her strength was decent, she still couldn’t match a fully grown beastman.

“Then let’s go have a look. Maybe there’s something good inside.”

Before Yin Yao could answer, Tang Guo had already pulled him toward the passage.

“High Priest, let’s go.”

“Ah Guoguo, there might be danger in there.”

“I’m not afraid.”

Yin Yao had nothing to say to that. He was the one afraid, afraid he wouldn’t be able to protect her.

“High Priest, don’t dawdle. What if there’s something good inside?” Tang Guo wasn’t going to back down. She had hidden something good in there herself, how could she not go?

In the end, Yin Yao was still pulled along by her. This time, without needing her to say it, he took her hand. Soon after, deciding that just holding hands wasn’t enough to keep them from getting separated, he simply pulled her small body into his arms.

Tang Guo was thoroughly pleased. Who said beastmen were rough and not gentlemanly?

Yin Yao was perfectly gentlemanly, smart enough to know exactly what to do in moments like this. No wonder he managed to do well in every world he traveled to, even without memories.

After walking for a while, they seemed to reach the heart of the mountain. The space was wide, and there was even a hole cut into the top, letting in light. How it was made was unclear.

Before, he wasn’t sure whether or not beastmen could take shelter here. Now, he was completely certain. When the beast tide came, they could hide here.

A wave of excitement rose in him. Perhaps this year, not a single member of the tribe would be lost.

In the dim light, Tang Guo saw the happiness on Yin Yao’s face and shook her head slightly. The more joy he felt for the tribe today, the more hatred he would feel toward its members in the future.

System: [Host, you can really do it, can’t you?]

“It’s not about whether I can ‘do it’ or not. I just want Yin Yao to see clearly what the tribe members choose. If this cave I found saves them from the beast tide, but later, when they have to choose between me and Ning Luo, they still choose Ning Luo, then Yin Yao won’t pity them anymore. I just want to be thorough. Isn’t rebirth supposed to be another chance to choose? This time, I want to see what choice they’ll make.”

Tang Guo smiled as she spoke with the system. She wanted to see whether people’s hearts would really hold onto even a shred of kindness for certain reasons.

“This place is very good,” Yin Yao said. “Ah Guoguo, let’s go back and have Black Wolf send some members to watch over it. This is a great spot. When the beast tide comes, our tribe can avoid danger.”

Tang Guo lowered her head, smiling sweetly. It wouldn’t be that easy.

In high spirits, Yin Yao took Tang Guo’s hand as they left the cave. The two of them covered the entrance with grass again. This time, with Yin Yao’s arrangements, it was hidden even better than before. No beastman would ever guess there was a hidden space here.

Once that was done, they didn’t head straight back to the tribe. Since it was still early, they decided to pick more herbs while they were out.

They wandered farther and farther off course, and then… they saw something unbelievable, and heard some very distinct sounds.
