Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 658

Yin Yao took the piece of beast hide, not paying it much mind at first, but when he saw the writing and drawings on it, his expression grew more serious. He carefully read it from beginning to end.

When he finished, his eyes were filled with surprise and delight. He stood up at once, unable to maintain his usual composed demeanor, and looked at Tang Guo with barely concealed excitement.

“Ah Guoguo, where did you find this?”

“I found it in a cave. High Priest, do you want to come treasure hunting with me in the cave?”

System: The host is bad.

Yin Yao was thinking about the contents recorded on the hide. It listed all sorts of herbs useful to beastmen, along with their applications, and even methods for treating minor ailments.

He didn’t know if this was the only piece of hide or if that cave might contain other important items.

Either way, he had to take a look.

“Let’s go now.”

He walked up to Tang Guo, grabbed her wrist, and led her toward the exit. Tang Guo followed behind with a bright smile. The warriors had already gone out during the day, and Yin Yao hadn’t told Black Wolf that he would be gathering herbs today.

So at the moment, there were no males in the tribe, and he simply took Tang Guo out.

Once they had left the tribe, he finally asked, “Which way do we go?”

“I’ll lead the way, High Priest.”

It was only then that Yin Yao realized he had been holding this little female’s hand the entire way. Feeling slightly awkward, he was about to let go when Tang Guo spoke up. “High Priest, just hold onto me.”

Yin Yao: Can I say no?

“If you hold onto me, we won’t get separated,” Tang Guo said with a smile. “If I get lost, you won’t be able to find me.”

At first, Yin Yao had been reluctant, but when he heard that, he immediately tightened his grip on her hand. He needed to hold her firmly. That one sentence, “If I get lost, you won’t be able to find me”, brought on a strange sense of panic.

In panic, he gripped her hand, never thinking of letting go again.

The panic only disappeared once he felt her small hand in his palm. Glancing at the little female beside him, smiling so brightly, he thought about the days they had spent together and the corners of his lips curved upward.

“Ah Guoguo.”

“Here.”

This time, hearing such an obedient reply, Yin Yao didn’t avoid it. That sound truly felt like it had gone straight to his heart.

“Don’t go out to play alone anymore. It’s dangerous outside.”

“Alright.”

Tang Guo looked at him as if to say she would listen to everything he said, making Yin Yao avert his gaze as his ears reddened. Luckily, his hair hung loose, so Ah Guoguo probably wouldn’t notice.

The only sounds around them were the rustling of grass as they walked. After a long while, Yin Yao spoke again. “Ah Guoguo.”

“Yes, High Priest, what is it?”

His eyes were full of warmth as he tightened his hold on her hand. “If you ever want to go out, make sure to tell me. I’ll go with you.”

System: The fish has taken the bait.

“Alright.”

Tang Guo’s lips curved upward, her eyes arching in a smile that made her already beautiful face almost dazzling. Yin Yao didn’t look away, but instead kept his gaze fixed on her.

He hadn’t had any special feelings for the old Ah Guoguo. He cared for her because her parents had died for the tribe, and it was only right to look after her.

But now, he had already fallen completely into the sweet world Ah Guoguo had, whether unintentionally or deliberately, drawn him into. He could no longer get out, nor did he want to.
