The Supporting Female Character Refuses to be Cannon Fodder Chapter 95

By the time they gathered for a small get-together before the new school term began, Jiang Chan’s dramatic transformation left her friends completely stunned. Over the summer, after finishing their school assignments, most of them had just gone out to have fun.

At their age, even if they wanted to find part-time jobs to make some money, no one would dare hire them. So, they mostly stayed home. Now, seeing Jiang Chan again after just one summer and noticing such a drastic change, the group of girls couldn’t help but be filled with envy.

Jiang Chan already carried a faint aura of a strong and capable woman. Her summer schedule had been compressed to the extreme. She only slept no more than four hours a day, balancing her schoolwork while also completing the tasks assigned by Lin Jinyu.

She had become the busiest person in the Lin family, burning the midnight oil every single day. Just this alone made Liang Chen feel distressed for her, and she even tugged on Lin Jinyu’s ear, lecturing him for quite a while.

She meant that Jiang Chan was still just a young girl, and working this hard could be harmful to her health.

In the end, it was Jiang Chan who came to Lin Jinyu’s rescue. She now had a strong sense of urgency. Being able to learn at Lin Jinyu’s side was an incredibly rare opportunity. If she didn’t give 200% effort, it would be nearly impossible for her to fully absorb everything Lin Jinyu had to offer.

Besides, it wouldn’t be long before she officially took over Jiang Yu’s company. It was just a matter of months. If she didn’t seize this time to work hard now, what would she do if things turned even worse after taking over the company?

Once she inherited Jiang Yu’s company, it would be almost impossible to keep shadowing Lin Jinyu. After all, they would be managing two entirely separate companies. How could a CEO also work as someone else’s assistant? The employees of her future company would definitely have complaints about that.

Thus, Jiang Chan had no choice but to squeeze every second out of her summer break. On top of that, after the summer vacation, she planned to skip a grade and move directly to the third year of middle school. After all, how could she deliver a more direct blow to Jiang Lianyu if they weren’t in the same class?

“What the fuck, Sister Chan, you’re skipping to the third year after summer break? And we’re stuck muddling through second year?”

Even though Shen Yu had changed a lot recently, she still couldn’t help blurting out some crude language when she got excited. Jiang Chan shot her a warning glare. “I took the exam a couple of days ago. The results were decent, so I’ll be reporting to the third year after school starts.”

“Sister Chan, you’re amazing!” Shen Yu blinked and managed to say this after a long pause.

“You think Sister Chan’s brain is ordinary? You saw her come in first place in the grade at the end of last semester, so it’s obvious her skills aren’t to be underestimated. A little thing like a grade-skipping exam is nothing for our Sister Chan.”

“Sigh, Sister Chan is really incredible. We’ve got to work harder too. We can’t let her lose face because of us.”

The day of the grade-skipping exam, Liang Chen had accompanied Jiang Chan. Normally, skipping grades wasn’t allowed anymore, especially in such a disciplined school as City Middle School. But the Lin family’s background was a major factor.

The academic dean, trying to make things difficult for Jiang Chan, deliberately prepared an especially challenging test paper, intending to force her to back off. Even in the unlikely event she managed to complete it, her low scores would make it embarrassing for the Lin family to push her into the third year.

Who would have thought Jiang Chan was so incredible? For the current high school entrance exam, excluding 40 points for physical education and the oral exam, the total score was 730 points. After deducting 20 points for English listening, Jiang Chan managed to score 698.

She completed all the test papers for the different subjects in one morning. As she finished each subject, the corresponding teacher would take it for grading.

To be honest, the third-year teachers were reluctant to accept grade-skipping students. This was because such students often had unstable mental states and might struggle to adapt to the intense pressure of a graduating class. Under these circumstances, it was easy for them to experience psychological setbacks and ultimately fade into mediocrity.

However, the Lin family’s influence was undeniable, and Liang Chen had personally accompanied Jiang Chan. No matter their private opinions, the teachers had to give the Lin family some face, which led to a bustling crowd of teachers in the office that day.

Jiang Chan, on the other hand, maintained her composure under the watchful eyes of the teachers. Her writing flowed as if divinely inspired. She began with the math, physics, and chemistry exams, which were easier to tackle as long as one had mastered the formulas and theories.

Seeing how steadily Jiang Chan was working, one of the third-year teachers couldn’t help but approach out of curiosity. He was the math teacher, and the moment Jiang Chan finished her math paper, he quickly snatched it up.

First, he looked at the paper itself. Her handwriting was strong and elegant, with clean and confident strokes. Just based on this, the teacher already had a favorable impression of her.

Then, as he reviewed her answers, he blinked a few times. It seemed like everything was correct? His expression grew serious as he pulled out a pen to grade the paper.

The more he graded, the more astonished he became. When we finished grading, Jiang Chan’s score was revealed. Aside from losing a few points for incomplete steps, Jiang Chan scored an impressive 148 in math.

And that was with the teacher nitpicking during the grading, otherwise it would have been a perfect score.

His shock was evident on his face, prompting the other teachers to grow even more curious. Soon, Jiang Chan’s physics and chemistry scores were also revealed, and they were equally outstanding.

A few of the science teachers huddled together, whispering among themselves, until all of Jiang Chan’s subject scores were finally released. Every single teacher now looked at Jiang Chan with a peculiar expression.

Is she even human? Out of a total of 710 points, she scored 698. This score could easily dominate the entire third-year class, couldn’t it? The teachers’ minds were all in turmoil.

“Particularly Jiang Chan’s essay, it truly made the Chinese teacher slap the desk in admiration. Even now, that teacher, a provincially recognized senior educator, was still holding onto Jiang Chan’s essay, analyzing it over and over.”

The test papers provided by the academic dean had been intentionally difficult. For a first-year middle school girl to score so highly on such a tough paper was enough to prove her academic prowess.

Liang Chen watched from the side, utterly astonished. She hadn’t expected her niece to be this impressive, truly bringing pride to the Lin family. In the end, Jiang Chan successfully skipped a grade and was placed in Jiang Lianyu’s class, which also happened to be under the same math teacher.

The math teacher, Old Wang, was all smiles when it came to Jiang Chan. She was like a golden treasure. How had he been lucky enough to have such a gem land in his class?

But that didn’t diminish his excitement. As long as Jiang Chan maintained these grades, it was only a matter of time before the top scorer of the high school entrance exams came from his class!

In truth, Jiang Chan wasn’t some prodigy. She was just an ordinary person who worked hard. If it weren’t for her solid foundation of knowledge from the modern world, she wouldn’t have been able to perform this well at all.

But seeing that she was receiving praise from the teachers for her good grades, Jiang Chan couldn’t help but feel happy. Especially when she saw Liang Chen’s proud expression, her heart felt warm and content.
