Lin Jinyu’s efficiency was indeed very high. By the time he was having lunch with Jiang Chan, he had already contacted a few people from a security company, who watched as Qin Miao and the others packed their belongings and moved out.
Qin Miao and Jiang Lianyu didn’t want to move. Qin Miao even called Jiang Yu, hoping he would come back to take charge of the situation. However, Jiang Yu was so busy dealing with his own crisis that he didn’t even answer her calls.
In the end, Qin Miao and Jiang Lianyu had no choice but to take two suitcases and move into the small house that Jiang Yu had prepared for them earlier. The lead bodyguard, being a bit mischievous, even took photos of the scene and sent them to Lin Jinyu.
“Are you satisfied now?” Lin Jinyu handed his phone to Jiang Chan while leisurely reviewing some documents. Jiang Chan, sitting across from his desk, was looking through the reference books in his office.
Jiang Chan truly wanted to learn from Lin Jinyu. In the original owner’s memory, Lin Jinyu was considered a business genius. By the time of her passing, he had already taken over as chairman of the Lin Group.
In Jiang Chan’s original world, she would never have had access to someone like him. Now that she was here, she couldn’t miss the opportunity to learn a thing or two from Lin Jinyu.
Moreover, this was also the original owner’s wish. The original owner had hoped to take over Jiang Yu’s company. If she managed to do so, wouldn’t she need the skills to run it?
Lin Jinyu didn’t refuse any of Jiang Chan’s requests. As soon as they arrived at the office, he tossed her a thick book and instructed her to read it carefully, then write an analysis based on the cases in it.
Jiang Chan was busy wrestling with the massive book when Lin Jinyu handed her his phone. The screen displayed a photo of Qin Miao and Jiang Lianyu standing outside Lin Wan’s villa, with several large bags scattered messily near the door.
A locksmith was also changing the locks, making the scene quite lively. The original owner had been someone who cried and laughed easily, but Jiang Chan naturally had a reserved expression. She curled her lips and pushed the phone back toward Lin Jinyu. “This is just the beginning. Wait, the real good days are yet to come.”
Lin Jinyu put the phone away and focused on his documents. Spending the morning accompanying Jiang Chan had already delayed a lot of his work. If he didn’t finish it soon, he would have to work overtime tonight.
“A little thing who never lets go of a grudge!” Jiang Chan heard this remark clearly. She bared her teeth at Lin Jinyu in response. She was indeed someone who held grudges, and she never denied it.
Meanwhile, Jiang Yu felt like he was going crazy. In the past, auditors from the auditing bureau had always been polite when they came to conduct their work. But today, no matter how much he tried to placate them, they remained strictly businesslike.
They even refused the cigarettes he offered, acting as if they didn’t recognize anyone. Jiang Yu quickly realized that things wouldn’t go well today. Without saying much, he watched as the auditors methodically went through the accounts.
Jiang Yu had always believed that his company was under his control. Even if there were problems, they shouldn’t have been serious. But less than twenty minutes into the audit, an issue was already uncovered.
Jiang Yu instantly broke out in a cold sweat.
Jiang Chan, however, knew nothing about this, nor did she care. It was time for her to go to school, and she slung her schoolbag over her shoulder. The school was about a half-hour drive from the Lin family villa, which was admittedly a bit far.
In the mornings, Lin Jinyu would give her a ride on his way to work. In the evenings, the family driver would pick her up. Jiang Chan was more than happy to enjoy such treatment. After all, wasn’t it rare for her to experience life as a young lady? Why shouldn’t she enjoy it?
Usually, Lin Jinyu left for the office early, around six o’clock. Jiang Chan didn’t mind though because junior high students typically started their morning classes at seven.
Arriving at school a little after six o’clock allowed her some extra time to read, which she considered part of her studies. When she walked into the school with her backpack, she was surprised to see that many students were already there.
Everyone seemed to be in a hurry. This was something the original owner had never experienced. As a former school tyrant, the original owner had always arrived just on time. She had never seen this kind of studious atmosphere.
Today was Friday, meaning Jiang Chan would have two days off after class. She entered the classroom, relying on the original owner’s memory, and found that half of the students were already there.
Everyone was seated, some reading books and others catching up on homework. When Jiang Chan walked in, the entire class was stunned. A delicate and pretty girl stood up and asked, “Classmate, did you walk into the wrong classroom?”
Jiang Chan lifted her eyes and found the girl looked familiar. Her memory was pretty decent. Wasn’t this the same girl who had been blocked on her first day here? She looked timid and fragile, as if she’d be easy to bully.
If she remembered correctly, this girl was probably the class monitor. Look at her, neatly dressed in her school uniform, the picture of a model student. Jiang Chan swung her backpack over her shoulder and said, “No, I’m part of this class.”
She carried her backpack to the original owner’s seat and sat down. It was in the last row by the window which was a prime spot for troublemakers. The teacher’s only requirement for students in this area was not to disturb others, leaving them free to do whatever they wanted in the back.
As Jiang Chan sat down, the classroom erupted in whispers. No one had expected this girl to be Jiang Chan. The transformation was simply too drastic.
Several girls from the back row leaned in toward her. Jiang Chan glanced at them and realized they were the same “kill Matt” (punk-style) girls who had blocked the class monitor before.
Unable to look at their colorful hairstyles directly, Jiang Chan turned away and said, “After school this afternoon, all of you go dye your hair back and change into normal clothes. Students should look like students.”
In the original owner’s memory, these girls, though dressed outrageously, had been genuinely loyal to her. Even after the original owner was kicked out of her home, these girls had supported her for a while.
The girl with the tattoo on her hand shouted loudly, “No way, Sister Chan, are you planning to turn over a new leaf and focus on studying?”
Jiang Chan shot her a glance. “Watch your words. I’ll go with you after school.”
She glanced at the tattoo on the girl’s hand. “That tattoo also, get it removed. The teacher will be here soon, so hurry up and study.”
The girl with the tattoo, Shen Yu, pouted but didn’t dare argue. Jiang Chan’s authority over them was deeply ingrained. Seeing Jiang Chan bury herself in a book, Shen Yu could only pick up a book and pretend to read.
Jiang Chan’s sudden change naturally caught the teachers’ attention. After the morning class, Shen Yu and two other girls squeezed over to Jiang Chan’s side. “Sister Chan, did you come to school yesterday?”
A baby-faced girl excitedly gossiped. She was known as the class’s go-to informant. Whatever had happened in the second-year class yesterday had already spread around by lunchtime in the cafeteria.
