Jiang Chan flipped through the items, but then her expression suddenly changed. “Where’s my mom’s light purple jade bracelet? Where did you put it?”
She directed her question at Qin Miao, who was standing by the door. With so many people watching, Qin Miao swallowed nervously. “Your sister thought it looked nice, so she wore it to school…”
Lin Jinyu’s lips curled into a mocking smile, and he said bluntly: “Is this habit of snatching other people’s belongings hereditary in your family? You wanted to steal my aunt’s husband, and now your daughter wants to take my sister’s jewelry? Is she going to end up just like you, specializing in taking other people’s husbands?”
“I’ll remind you of something and that is that my mom only gave birth to me. I don’t have any random sisters or brothers. Let’s go to my room. My mom got me plenty of other jewelry. Let’s see if it’s all still there.”
Jiang Chan brushed past Qin Miao, who was standing by the door, and entered the original owner’s room. The dressing table inside was a complete mess, and all the jewelry that originally belonged to the original owner had been rummaged through and scattered everywhere.
Jiang Chan tapped her fingers on the table and looked at Qin Miao, who was leaning weakly against the doorframe. “Care to explain this to me?”
Qin Miao hadn’t expected Jiang Lianyu to go this far and directly come into Jiang Chan’s room and take her belongings. Now her face couldn’t even be saved. She looked at Jiang Chan pleadingly.
“Xiao Chan, Lianyu is still young and doesn’t know any better. When she gets back, I’ll make her return everything to you. Please, be the bigger person and don’t hold it against her.”
Jiang Chan showed no mercy. “No need to wait for her to come back. She’s in class at school right now, isn’t she? Let’s go directly to her school.”
The thrill of publicly exposing someone’s misconduct was indescribable. Jiang Chan wished such opportunities would arise more often.
Qin Miao was truly panicking now. She hadn’t expected Jiang Chan to be this ruthless. If she went to the school and caused a scene, how would Lianyu face her classmates in the future?
Seeing Jiang Chan lift her leg and start walking out, Qin Miao quickly hugged Jiang Chan’s calf. “Xiao Chan, Auntie will call her right now and have her come back, okay? You can’t go to the school! If you go, how will Lianyu get along with her classmates in the future?”
Jiang Chan bent slightly and pinched Qin Miao’s chin, scrutinizing her face. Seeing her cry pitifully, she clicked her tongue. “Don’t cry in front of me. If you want to cry, go cry to Jiang Yu. Seeing you like this, I’m sure his heart will ache terribly.”
Then, she let go of Qin Miao’s chin with disdain and even wiped her hands on Qin Miao’s clothes. “You and Jiang Yu ruined my mom’s life. I’m just repaying you in kind. Heaven sees all, and debts owed to others will eventually have to be repaid.”
After speaking, Jiang Chan lifted her leg and shook off Qin Miao’s arm. “Let’s go to school. I want to see what Jiang Lianyu has to say!”
Looking at the exceptionally imposing and domineering Jiang Chan, Lin Jinyu’s eyes sparkled with excitement. Watching his little cousin tear apart the scumbag father and the white lotus mistress with her bare hands, he felt a hundred times more refreshed.
Whatever Jiang Chan said, Lin Jinyu complied. In less than twenty minutes, they arrived at the original owner’s school, City Middle School. Students at City Middle School were either exceptionally high-achieving or came from powerful and wealthy families.
The original owner had managed to attend City Middle School only because Lin Wan had poured a significant amount of money into securing her admission. Otherwise, with her average grades, she would never have been accepted into this prestigious school.
Jiang Lianyu had originally attended a regular middle school. Compared to the original owner, Jiang Lianyu’s grades were much better. So, after Qin Miao and Jiang Yu got married, Jiang Yu managed to secure Jiang Lianyu a spot at City Middle School.
When Jiang Chan arrived at City Middle School, it was only about ten in the morning. It was just the third class period of the day. During the break, many students were gathered together, chatting.
Jiang Lianyu was surrounded by a group of students, and their chatter filled the air.
“Lianyu, your jade bracelet is so pretty. It makes your skin look so fair.”
“That must have cost a fortune, right?”
“Talking about money is so tacky. What’s important is that it looks good. Lianyu’s family is well-off, so no matter how expensive it is, she can afford it.”
Jiang Lianyu sat at her desk, basking in the compliments. Although her heart swelled with satisfaction, she maintained a soft and demure smile, perfectly imitating Qin Miao’s demeanor.
“Wow, Lianyu, your earrings are gorgeous too. Are they crystal? Your mom has such great taste.”
Jiang Lianyu adjusted her hair, allowing the earrings to catch the light and sparkle more prominently, drawing even more admiration from her classmates.
Clap, clap, clap! The sound of slow clapping echoed through the room as Jiang Chan and Lin Jinyu strolled into the classroom. The once-bustling chatter abruptly fell silent.
Everyone watched as Jiang Chan walked closer and closer, finally stopping by Jiang Lianyu’s desk. While others didn’t recognize Jiang Chan, Jiang Lianyu did. Even though Jiang Chan had changed so much, for someone who utterly despised her, no matter how many changes she had undergone, Jiang Lianyu could recognize her at a glance.
“Taking someone else’s jewelry without their permission and showing it off here—do you know what that means?” Jiang Chan curled her lips into a mocking smile. “Taking something without asking is called theft. Did you know that, my dear half-sister?”
Jiang Chan’s words were like a drop of water falling into a sizzling pan of oil, instantly causing an uproar. All the students perked up their ears, eager to catch every word.
Jiang Lianyu’s face turned deathly pale. She had never expected Jiang Chan to show up suddenly. At the mention of the word “theft,” Jiang Lianyu stammered, “I—I was just borrowing it, Xiao Chan. You weren’t home…”
“Don’t make excuses!” Jiang Chan cut her off coldly. “You’re just like your scheming mother. She likes to steal other people’s husbands, and you like to steal other people’s jewelry. My mom and I must have terrible luck to have encountered the three of you.”
“Wow, who would’ve thought? Jiang Lianyu is actually the daughter of a mistress. And here she usually acts so noble.”
“Mistresses are the worst.”
“No quality at all.”
Jiang Lianyu could not bear to admit she was the daughter of a mistress. “My dad truly loves my mom. She’s not a mistress…”
“Stop insulting the word ‘true love’!” A round-faced girl sitting behind Jiang Lianyu sneered bluntly, “No matter how beautifully you phrase it, you still can’t deny that your mom was the third party who interfered in someone else’s family and destroyed it!”
Jiang Chan silently gave this girl a thumbs-up in her heart—what a divine assist. She crossed her arms leisurely and said, “Perhaps I shouldn’t call your mom a mistress. Instead, maybe I should talk about your wonderful dad? A phoenix man? Already had a girlfriend, yet still deceived my mom? Used my mom’s money to support you and your illegitimate little brother for fifteen years?”
By now, it was time for the next class, and the teacher had already entered the room. However, seeing the scene unfolding, he quietly stood aside, watching. After all, even teachers were curious about the scandals of wealthy families.

The Teacher is a mood. I too would be too tempted by the gossip to intervene too quickly. I never blame illegitimate children for their birth but this little girls actions deserve retaliation.
