The Supporting Female Character Refuses to be Cannon Fodder Chapter 85

To be honest, Jiang Chan would rather destroy Jiang Yu’s company than let anything from it fall into the hands of Qin Miao and her two children. The only reason Jiang Yu’s company had done so well over the years was because of the support from the Lin family. Now that he had angered the Lin family, what could he possibly do? Jiang Chan felt thoroughly refreshed. This kind of “seeing you unhappy makes me happy” feeling is truly addictive.

Jiang Chan has such a clear sense of love and hate, not to mention being on the same side as them. This made the Lin family, spanning three generations, view her even more favorably and genuinely consider her interests wholeheartedly.

Lin Jinyu adjusted his glasses. “Jiang Yu’s company does have potential. It’d be a shame to destroy it outright. After all, it was started with Auntie’s dowry. I think we should transfer it entirely to Xiao Chan.”

“That’s a good idea. Jiang Yu is just a selfish opportunist. He’s long forgotten that without my sister, his company wouldn’t have achieved such success. Giving it to Xiao Chan would hit him where it hurts the most.”

Lin Qiao crossed his legs casually, his expression calm and indifferent. “In Jiang Yu and Qin Miao’s minds, everything my sister left behind is theirs by right. Otherwise, would they have dared to treat her and Xiao Chan so brazenly?”

Not wanting to expose Jiang Chan to the cutthroat scheming of the business world, Lin Yuanshan softened his tone. “Alright, sort out the matter of those two children’s parentage as soon as possible. The dowry I gave to Lin Wan was always meant for Xiao Chan. Make sure it’s properly transferred to her name.”

“I still have the original dowry list you gave to my sister for her wedding,” Lin Qiao responded quickly, immediately taking on the responsibility. “I’ll send a lawyer over tomorrow.”

Jiang Chan suddenly spoke up, “Uncle, I’ll go with the lawyer tomorrow.”

Lin Qiao raised an eyebrow. “Fine, but you’re just a young girl. Jinyu should go along to keep things in order.”

Lin Jin Yu, who was supposed to keep things in order…

“Alright, I’ll go with Xiao Chan to make sure no one takes advantage of her.”

Jiang Chan curled her lips into a smile. It was settled then. This feeling of being protected was really quite nice.

The lawyer arrived at the Lin residence at 8 o’clock the next morning. At that time, Jiang Chan was playing chess with Lin Yuanshan. She had already discovered that Lin Yuanshan was a terrible chess player, often attempting to undo his moves.

But no matter how many moves he took back, he still couldn’t avoid losing. Watching his grandfather scratch his head and fidget like an ant on a hot pan, Lin Jinyu couldn’t help but look at Jiang Chan with newfound respect.

He had only met one person capable of putting his grandfather in such a state. He never expected his little cousin to be so formidable at such a young age!

It was summer, and Jiang Chan dressed simply yet smartly in long sleeves, pants, and sneakers, exuding a youthful, student-like vibe. However, one glance into her eyes would tell anyone that her demeanor far exceeded what a typical student should possess.

A luxurious business car took them directly to Jiang Yu’s company. In the original owner’s memories, she had never visited Jiang Yu’s company. By the time she had been kicked out of the Jiang family, Jiang Yu’s company had grown even larger, nearly rivaling the Lin family’s business in scale.

Standing at the entrance of Jiang Yu’s company, Jiang Chan looked up at the building in front of her. Now that she was here, there was no way Jiang Yu could rise to power like he did in her past life.

“Let’s go.” Seeing Jiang Chan standing there for a long time, Lin Jinyu didn’t think much of it and led the lawyer into Jiang Yu’s company’s main entrance.

Lin Jinyu’s face was well-known, so the receptionist didn’t even bother asking questions before respectfully allowed the three of them to pass.

Jiang Yu felt his eyelid twitching nonstop as soon as he woke up this morning, a sign that something bad was about to happen. Sure enough, less than an hour after he sat down in his office, his secretary came in and said that Lin Jinyu was here.

Jiang Yu immediately felt a chill down his spine. Why was Lin Jinyu here out of the blue? He hadn’t forgotten how much the Lin family disliked him.

As soon as he stood up, the office door was pushed open. Lin Jinyu led the way, followed by a young man wearing glasses who looked meticulous and capable. Standing next to him was Jiang Chan.

Seeing Jiang Chan, Jiang Yu instantly understood. She had brought Lin Jinyu here. He was utterly displeased with Jiang Chan in his heart, but he still had to keep a smile on his face. “You silly child. You didn’t go back, nor did you even call. And you even troubled your brother to bring you here. Shouldn’t you thank your brother?”

Jiang Chan almost wanted to applaud Jiang Yu’s audacity. She gave him a nonchalant look. “If I don’t call you, couldn’t you call me? Do you even know my number?”

Jiang Yu’s face twisted briefly. “What are you saying? You’re my daughter. Who else would I worry about if not you? Your Aunt Qin was so worried about you she barely slept last night.”

Jiang Chan waved her hand dismissively. “Stop it. Isn’t your daughter Jiang Lianyu? Oh, and your son Jiang Siyu? There’s no place for me there, so why should I go back? Things are great at Uncle’s house. Grandpa, Uncle, Aunt, and Cousin all treat me very well.”

Jiang Yu hadn’t expected Jiang Chan to lay it all out so bluntly. He couldn’t help but panic. “What do you mean by that?”

“Exactly what I said,” Jiang Chan replied calmly. “Qin Miao has been your mistress for so many years and even gave you a son and daughter. Now that my mom is gone, your family of four can finally reunite. I, on the other hand, have to fend for myself.”

Jiang Yu’s eyes were about to burst with rage. Jiang Chan just revealed in front of Lin Jinyu that he was keeping a mistress. This…?

Jiang Chan calmly sat down in the chair across from Jiang Yu’s desk. “I’m here today for two things. First, I want back the dowry my grandfather gave my mother.”

The lawyer promptly handed over a document. “This is the dowry list provided by Chairman Lin.”

Jiang Chan brushed her fingers lightly over the list. “My grandfather gave my mom quite a lot, five million in cash, two properties, and various pieces of jewelry…”

She pushed the list toward Jiang Yu. “These were my mom’s belongings, part of her premarital assets. You’ll need to return them.”

Seeing Jiang Chan’s fighting ability, Lin Jinyu simply sat on the sofa to the side to watch the show, observing how his little cousin unleashed her dominance. His father had told him his role was just to keep order, after all.

Jiang Yu was livid. “I haven’t touched your mom’s properties, and her jewelry is still intact. As for the five million, your mom used it to help me start this company…”

Jiang Chan snapped her fingers. “Fine, so my mom invested in your business. Let’s convert that into shares. Calculate how much my mom’s five million was worth as an investment, and transfer the corresponding shares to me.”

Jiang Yu hadn’t anticipated this move and he was so angry that he was practically fuming.
