The Supporting Female Character Refuses to be Cannon Fodder Chapter 114

Jiang Chan gave a soft hum, hiding her achievements and fame. Seeing Sun Xuyao puffing out his cheeks, she moved her fingers slightly. “Otherwise, why do you think Jiang Yu wanted to do a paternity test?”

Sun Xuyao couldn’t tell whether he felt happy or angry. He sulked for a while before finally saying, “Second sister, you’re really too wicked.”

Jiang Chan was displeased. “Kid, is that how you talk? If it weren’t for me, would you have found your real dad? Your little tadpole wouldn’t even know where it was swimming. Having fun hanging around with those little punks, huh?”

Sun Xuyao glanced upward. “Well, thanks a lot then!”

Jiang Chan shamelessly replied, “You’re welcome. Who told me I couldn’t stand your mother?”

Sun Xuyyao gave her a deadpan stare. “You’re talking about my mom right in front of me. I’m about to get angry!”

Before Jiang Chan could respond, Sun Chen smacked Sun Xuyao on the head. “Kid, your real dad is standing right here. From now on, don’t bring up that irresponsible mother of yours. You should have less to do with her side. I’ll pay whatever child support is needed.”

Sun Xuyao immediately shrank his neck like a quail. Facing his biological father, he was still very intimidated.

After scolding Sun Xuyao, Sun Chen squinted at Jiang Chan and said, “Back to the point, President Jiang, you’ve helped me so much. I really have to thank you properly.”

Jiang Chan was very calm. “Next year, I plan to open a branch office in the neighboring province. I hope President Sun will take care of us then.”

Sun Xuyao opened his mouth. “Second sister, your company is expanding again?”

Sun Chen immediately felt annoyed. After spending more than a week with this kid, while there weren’t any major problems, the minor ones just kept surfacing. First of all, he had a bit of a spoiled rich kid vibe.

All day long he just thought about eating, drinking, and having fun. And this was already after his mother Qin Miao had mistreated him. If she had spoiled him further, he might have turned into a real little tyrant.

Sun Chen simply opened the car door and grabbed Sun Xuyao by the back of his neck like a chick, pushing him into the car. “You sit there quietly. I’m going to have a few words with President Jiang.”

Sun Xuyao immediately sat upright like an elementary school student, though his eyes were still darting around. Now he dared to be a little bold in front of Sun Chen, as long as he didn’t cross the line.

Once Sun Xuyao was settled, Sun Chen turned around and shook hands with Jiang Chan. “President Jiang, you’re truly accomplished at such a young age. Your company has developed so well. My good-for-nothing son will need your support in the future.”

Jiang Chan squinted. “You’re too polite. He has a more promising future than I do.”

Sun Chen laughed heartily, said goodbye to Jiang Chan, then took Sun Xuyao back to his own base. Watching the business car drive off, Jiang Chan turned and prepared to return to campus.

Sun Chen’s actions were very swift, decisive and clean. If she hadn’t had people constantly watching Qin Miao’s side, she might have been caught off guard by Sun Chen.

Now that Sun Xuyao had gone off with his father and Jiang Lianyu had flown to the capital to study, it seemed unlikely either of them would return often. Both children had successively distanced themselves from Qin Miao. Jiang Chan couldn’t help but be amazed. How had Qin Miao managed to mess up such a good hand this badly?

Now Qin Miao was completely alone. Jiang Yu was tired of her too. Without even a child by her side, as Jiang Chan thought of her future days, she shook her head and walked with a light step.

Ultimately, Qin Miao’s current predicament was largely due to Jiang Chan’s instigation from behind the scenes. But as the saying goes, a fly doesn’t sting a seamless egg. If Qin Miao herself had behaved properly, would such things have happened?

In short, Qin Miao had brought it all on herself. Thinking of her current circumstances only made Jiang Chan feel even better.

She had only walked a few steps when she was stopped by someone. She looked up and saw a senior male student, reportedly a popular figure in the school. She didn’t quite remember his name.

At that moment, the senior male student looked at Jiang Chan with scorching eyes. “Jiang Chan, do you have time to grab dinner tonight?”

Such a scene, suggestive of a confession, especially with handsome young men and beautiful women, immediately attracted attention. Students were already openly and secretly gathering to watch.

Jiang Chan frowned. “Sorry, I’m going home soon. I have dinner with my family tonight.”

Just as she was speaking, a horn honked at the school gate. Jiang Chan turned to see it was Lin Jinyu’s car. “My brother came to pick me up. I’m heading back. Sorry, and thank you for the dinner invitation, senior.”

Chen Dong glanced at the familiar car at the gate and narrowed his eyes. When he saw Lin Jinyu get out, his suspicion deepened.

So Jiang Chan really was the Lin family’s granddaughter. Thinking about what he had heard and the fact that she had a company already, he thought, if someone managed to win her over, they’d be marrying into wealth and gaining a connection to the Lin family. It would be a win-win situation.

All these thoughts flashed through his mind, but Chen Dong’s face remained composed. He kept a warm smile. “No worries, next time you’re free, we can go out then.”

Lin Jinyu had just arrived and caught the last sentence. He looked Chen Dong up and down and said coldly, “There won’t be a next time. Xiao Chan is still young. Don’t get involved in puppy love.”

Hearing the term “puppy love,” everyone burst out laughing. What was “puppy love”? Jiang Chan was already eighteen. Normal girls would have dated several times by now, and this person was saying it was still “puppy love”?

Chen Dong’s smile nearly slipped off his face. Faced with Lin Jinyu’s undisguised hostility, he fully realized just how difficult it would be to take someone like Jiang Chan, a golden treasure, home.

Only with difficulty do challenges become interesting, right? Watching Jiang Chan and Lin Jinyu walk out side by side, a flash of determination passed through Chen Dong’s eyes.

Someone like Jiang Chan who has never been in a relationship, as long as he puts in a little effort, wouldn’t she be easy to get? Chen Dong had this inexplicable self-confidence. He looked at the school gate, then turned and strode into the campus.

Along the way, Chen Dong maintained a gentle smile. Every girl who greeted him looked like a flustered deer, blushing as they walked away. But none of them noticed the trace of mockery that flashed through Chen Dong’s eyes.

In the car, Lin Jinyu, uncharacteristically, was driving himself. He glanced at Jiang Chan sitting in the passenger seat and said, “You’re still young. Don’t listen to Grandpa and Mom. Relationships need time to grow. It’s not like our family can’t afford to support you.”

Seeing that Jiang Chan didn’t respond, Lin Jinyu added, “Dad and I feel the same. You can take your time finding a boyfriend. Relationships in college rarely last. Haven’t you heard that graduation season is breakup season?”

Jiang Chan truly hadn’t heard that before. All in all, she had only just gone to high school and had never really experienced college..
