The Supporting Female Character Refuses to be Cannon Fodder Chapter 105

Qin Miao was also surprised that Jiang Chan got this score. The main reason was that since Jiang Yu was removed from the position of chairman last time, Jiang Chan’s interactions with them had obviously decreased. And usually, Jiang Lianyu did not bring up Jiang Chan at home either.

So Qin Miao still had the impression of Jiang Chan as someone with poor grades in the past. Now hearing that Jiang Chan had suddenly become the provincial top scorer, Qin Miao felt a trace of bitterness.

Were she and her daughter destined to always be trampled under the feet of Jiang Chan and her mother? Back then, Lin Wan had relied on her good family background to take the place of Jiang Yu’s wife. Now, Lin Wan’s daughter had also stepped over her daughter.

Jiang Lianyu said, “Do you think Jiang Chan and I were born incompatible? We are both Dad’s daughters, so why is there such a big difference between us? Am I always going to have to look up to her?”

Qin Miao said, “She and we will never be a family. Either she suppresses us, or we suppress her. Just wait. There is still a long time ahead. She can’t stay so proud forever.”

“Let her be pleased for now.” Qin Miao gritted her teeth. Lin Wan was already dead, yet she had left behind Jiang Chan to get in her way. Now their whole family still had to rely on the shares in Jiang Yu’s hands to survive, which made Qin Miao hate Jiang Chan even more.

Qin Miao was also unwilling to tell Jiang Lianyu about those messy matters outside. Did she really need to tell Jiang Lianyu that her father was having another affair?

Was this the retribution for being a mistress? She had only been in this position for just over a year, and before she had even settled into it, Jiang Yu had gone and gotten someone pregnant outside.

Jiang Chan’s teacher appreciation banquet was held in a very lively manner. The Lin family had a big business, and especially the old Mr. Lin gave instructions that this had to be done in a grand way. This was the honor of the Lin family.

Jiang Chan’s graduation banquet was held at the largest hotel in the city, one of the Lin Group’s subsidiary hotels. The banquet that day was very lively. In the morning, Jiang Chan was pulled up by Liang Chen early to have her styling done.

After sitting in front of the mirror for several hours, Jiang Chan felt sore in her back and waist. She didn’t feel this uncomfortable even after a whole day in the office. She didn’t know where Liang Chen and Kate got all this energy. They spent the entire day fussing over her.

Jiang Yu was the most frustrated. He hadn’t even been sent an invitation to Jiang Chan’s teacher appreciation banquet. He knew that Jiang Chan had become the provincial top scorer, but it was already seen as the Lin family’s glory and had nothing to do with him as her biological father.

The Lin family was wealthy and influential. No matter how big or small the event, it always made the news. Even this teacher appreciation banquet was reported in the newspaper the next day.

When Qin Miao and her daughter saw the newspaper, they felt even more stifled. Jiang Yu also began to feel depressed, but afterward, he simply let it go. Jiang Chan had made it very clear that she had drawn a line with them and would never have anything to do with them again.

He would not try to get close anymore. Besides, now all of his attention was focused on Qi Yan. Her child was already almost eight months along and would be born in another two months.

To make it up to Qi Yan, Jiang Yu divided 35 percent of the shares under his name into three parts. One part, 20%, was retained by him personally.

The other 15% was divided into three shares, evenly allocated to Jiang Lianyu, Jiang Siyu, and the child in Qi Yan’s belly. But since none of these children were of age yet, all the shares were still held by Jiang Yu.

When they turned eighteen, these shares would automatically transfer to their names.

This was what Jiang Yu was busy arranging. After Jiang Chan learned of Jiang Yu’s plan, she knew that her big move could be brought out.

By then, Jiang Chan’s banquet had been over for quite some time and there was just over a week before the new school term began. Jiang Yu also rarely returned home, taking time to reconnect with Jiang Lianyu, Jiang Siyu and the others.

That night after dinner, Jiang Yu sat on the sofa watching TV. Qin Miao was washing dishes in the kitchen and Jiang Lianyu was studying in her room. Jiang Siyu was playing games on the side, the game’s volume blaring so loud that Jiang Yu frowned.

Suddenly, Jiang Yu’s phone received an email on his phone. He opened it casually. It was sent by someone he didn’t recognize. Jiang Yu was about to close it, but when he saw the content, he forced himself to keep reading.

When he saw the paternity test report, Jiang Yu’s eyes nearly bulged. He sprang up. Jiang Siyu, who was sitting across from him, didn’t even lift his head.

“Dad, why are you suddenly like this? I was just at the best part of my game. You startled me!”

Jiang Yu completely ignored Jiang Siyu and shouted loudly in the living room, “Qin Miao, Qin Miao, come over here!”

Qin Miao was in the kitchen. She hurriedly wiped her hands and walked out. “What’s going on? Why are you suddenly shouting like this? What if you scare the children?”

Jiang Yu sneered.

“Qin Miao, you really gave me quite the surprise. Take a look for yourself at what this is.”

Qin Miao took Jiang Yu’s phone. When she saw the paternity test report, her pupils contracted. The next moment, she forced herself to stay calm.

“Why are you showing me this out of nowhere? This must be something forged by someone trying to drive a wedge between us!”

Jiang Yu roared in anger.

“Who would randomly send me something like this? I think you have a guilty conscience! I always wondered why this boy didn’t feel close to me. So he’s not my son after all!”

Qin Miao shouted in rage.

“Jiang Yu, you can skip meals, but you can’t just say whatever you want! On what basis are you saying Siyu isn’t your son? Do you know how much that would hurt him?”

“I don’t care if he’s hurt or not. All I know is that I’ve been raising someone else’s child all these years. You are really something. Giving me this green hat for so long!”

Jiang Yu’s eyes were bloodshot with anger. Their argument was so loud that it startled Jiang Lianyu, who had been reading in her room. She ran out and saw the living room full of tension. Qin Miao was standing protectively in front of Jiang Siyu while Jiang Yu was standing across from them, glaring fiercely at both of them.

She carefully tried to speak up.

“What’s going on? Dad, why are you so angry? What happened? Can’t we just talk it out?”

It might have been better if she hadn’t spoken, because as soon as she did, Jiang Yu became even more agitated. He stepped over and grabbed Jiang Lianyu.

“Speak clearly. How exactly should this be explained? Qin Miao, I’m starting to doubt whether this girl is even my child!”

Qin Miao screamed.

“How can you say things like this in front of the children? You saw both Lianyu and Siyu born with your own eyes! Now you’re saying this. Have you even thought about how they feel?”

Jiang Yu overturned the coffee table.

“I don’t care how they feel. Didn’t you want evidence? Fine. Tomorrow morning, we’ll all go get a paternity test. I want to see whether these two really are mine!”

Qin Miao was terrified.

“You’re crazy! If you don’t want to live like this anymore, then let’s just get a divorce!”
