The Supporting Female Character Refuses to be Cannon Fodder Chapter 102

Comrade Old Wang’s arrival saved Jiang Chan. Otherwise, she would have been surrounded by classmates for a long time. As he watched the students scatter like startled birds and beasts, Old Wang cleared his throat.

Casually making his way over to Jiang Chan’s side, he reached out and smoothly took away her test paper. Jiang Chan blinked, while Mo Xingyu quickly pushed her own test paper between them so they could share it.

“I am very dissatisfied with this test’s results. While the difficulty was a bit higher, the questions were still derived from the basics. As long as you had a solid grasp of the fundamentals, how could you end up with such scores?”

“Now, let’s go over the test paper…”

From Jiang Chan’s perspective, the math test was not particularly difficult. As Old Wang had pointed out, the questions had only been slightly modified, with a few twists making it easy for students to fall into preset patterns of thinking.

“I want to specifically commend Jiang Chan. She did an excellent job on the final major problem and even used a more efficient method to solve it…”

For the rest of the day, Jiang Chan’s name was repeatedly mentioned by every subject teacher. The students were already growing numb to it by the time the last period’s Chinese teacher walked in.

As expected, Jiang Chan had once again ranked first in the entire grade with a score of 148. The two points she had lost were deductions the exam graders had deliberately made. Otherwise, no one had ever seen a full-score Chinese test before.

Even so, Jiang Chan’s 148 left her classmates utterly astonished. Chinese was a subject where it was incredibly easy to lose points. Typically, scoring above 140 was already considered an impressive feat, but who could have imagined that Jiang Chan, this great Buddha, would manage to score 148?

Some students had already begun tallying her scores, as all the subjects had been released by now. A girl holding a calculator exclaimed, “A perfect score in math, 148 in Chinese, a perfect score in English, perfect scores in physics, chemistry, politics, and history. The total possible score is 740, and you actually got 738? God, how are we ordinary students supposed to survive?”

The classroom immediately erupted in chaos, with everyone stunned by Jiang Chan’s results. No one had expected that the youngest student in the grade would also be the top scorer. The students who had been in school a year longer than her could not help but feel bitter.

How could the gap between people be this wide?

After enduring an entire day of being stared at like a zoo exhibit, Jiang Chan grabbed her schoolbag and bolted out of the classroom as soon as school was over. By the end of the day, Jiang Chan’s name had spread throughout the entire grade.

Because she sat by the window, students from other classes would often come by during breaks, peeking in as if watching a sideshow, just to see what this legendary genius actually looked like.

As soon as she stepped out of the school gates, Jiang Chan was met with a hug from Liang Chen, along with two affectionate kisses.

Liang Chen smiled brightly as she took Jiang Chan’s schoolbag. “Xiao Chan, you really made your aunt proud! Your homeroom teacher already sent your scores to my phone, and you did really well!”

Jiang Chan was momentarily stunned before responding, “Oh, the questions were alright, not too difficult. I just performed as usual.”

Liang Chen was briefly taken aback before bursting into laughter.

“We are having a big feast tonight to celebrate Xiao Chan getting first place in the monthly exams!”

Jiang Chan was helpless. “Auntie, you said it yourself, it is just a monthly exam. It won’t be too late to celebrate after I take first place in the high school entrance exams.”

Liang Chen smiled brightly. “Xiao Chan is really ambitious. You are already thinking about ranking first in the high school entrance exams? Just imagine if our family produces a top scholar. How glorious would that be?”

Watching Liang Chen enthusiastically talking to herself, Jiang Chan could only sigh in resignation. Forget it. As long as she was happy.

After this exam, Jiang Chan’s reputation in the city skyrocketed. Now, who in the school did not know about Jiang Chan from year three, Class One? She was practically a legend, just two points away from a perfect score.

At the same time, her popularity among her classmates had reached an all-time high. Every time the bell rang for a break, she was instantly surrounded by students. Initially, some had been hesitant, wondering if Jiang Chan would be stingy with her knowledge and refuse to share her methods.

To their surprise, Jiang Chan was incredibly generous. Though she was serious and not particularly fond of smiling, as long as someone brought a question to her, if she knew how to solve it, she would explain it clearly.

Her explanations were simple and to the point, breaking complex problems down in a way that made them easy to understand. Often, problems that the teacher had to explain multiple times would only require a single explanation from Jiang Chan for her classmates to understand.

As a result, Jiang Chan became even more popular in the class. Class One was full of top students, and everyone was highly competitive and unwilling to admit defeat to others. The only exception was Jiang Chan, whom they all acknowledged.

During this period, Jiang Chan remained extremely busy, balancing both her schoolwork and company responsibilities. Fortunately, her professional manager, Manager Gao, was diligent and highly competent. However, despite this, there were still many documents that required Jiang Chan’s approval and signature.

Every day after school, Jiang Chan would stop by the company to pick up the day’s documents and take them home. After reviewing them at night, she would have the driver deliver them back to the company the next morning. She stayed up until eleven or twelve every night, burning the candle at both ends and working tirelessly.

At the same time, while attending school, she was also studying high school-level coursework. She compressed her schedule as much as possible, already planning to skip another grade when she entered high school.

Jiang Lianyu seemed to have finally learned her lesson and during this time she no longer tried to approach Jiang Chan. Now that her entire family was essentially living under Jiang Chan’s control, she did not dare to provoke her anymore.

If Jiang Chan, that lunatic, decided to pull another move, Jiang Lianyu would feel like dying.

Time flew by quickly, and in the blink of an eye, the high school entrance exams arrived. For most students, this was a grueling battle, as if thousands of soldiers were trying to cross a single-log bridge. But for Jiang Chan, she remained completely calm.

She had already experienced this exam once before, so how could she be nervous? She was especially confident in her own abilities, so there was nothing for her to fear.

She had long been in the habit of handing in her exams early. While the other students were still sweating over their test papers, Jiang Chan had already turned hers in. Waiting at the school gate, Liang Chen quickly handed her a bottle of mineral water and a towel without asking anything about how the exam went.

She had complete confidence in Jiang Chan. Ever since Jiang Chan had skipped a grade, she had never once lost her position as the top student. Eventually, everyone else had given up competing for first place and had instead set their sights on second.

For the three days of the high school entrance exams, Jiang Chan surprisingly did not go to the company and focused entirely on her studies. But the moment the exams ended, she returned to treating the company as her second home.

Over the past year, the company had grown significantly, expanding far beyond what it had been under Jiang Yu’s leadership. Business had been increasing steadily, and recently, Jiang Chan had been considering whether to open branches in other provinces and cities.

Seeing Jiang Chan enter, the receptionist quickly stood up respectfully and greeted her, “Hello, President Jiang!”

Jiang Chan nodded and headed straight for the elevator. The receptionist placed a hand over her chest before finally sitting back down. Although Jiang Chan had a youthful face, everyone knew the history of how she had kicked her own father out to take over.

Especially with the series of decisions she had made after taking over, everyone knew she was ruthless.
