That woman took his words seriously, which led to Song Xiaoyun being run over by a car.
At first, Tang Lusheng was somewhat afraid. But later, when everything in the Song Group fell into his hands and he even changed its name from Song to Tang, his fear gradually faded.
The woman came to him and said she was pregnant. She claimed she had done what she promised and demanded that he marry her.
At that time, he had just taken over the company and his position was not yet stable. He disliked being threatened, yet he still married her.
Once the company stabilized and everything was under his control, Song Xiaoyun’s ghost returned and caused that woman to miscarry.
He invited a Daoist and had Song Xiaoyun’s ghost destroyed.
He had even felt some regret that Song Xiaoyun had not killed that woman outright. He was also afraid Song Xiaoyun would come after him, so he dared not delay.
Now, his only threats were gone. He had a son. As long as he raised the boy himself, the child would listen only to him. Everything would be smooth sailing.
After listening to Tang Lusheng’s muttering and seeing his contented smile, Tang Guo smiled as well.
“Cloud the mind.”
She formed a hand seal and cast the technique on Tang Lusheng.
For an instant, a faint flicker appeared over his chest, but it lasted only a moment. Tang Lusheng himself noticed nothing. If he had opened his clothes to check, he would have found that the talisman Fang Tianshi had given him had already turned to ashes.
The system hid in a corner, trembling.
Every time it saw the host use this technique, it found it terrifying.
Tang Lusheng’s smile vanished. He took out his phone and dialed a number. “It’s me, Tang Lusheng.”
“President Tang, what instructions do you have?”
“I’m preparing to sell all the shares I hold. Also the villa I live in, my private properties, my collections. Sell everything. Donate all the money for me. Assistant Chen, arrange it as soon as possible. My time is limited.”
After hanging up, Tang Lusheng sat there blankly, like a wooden puppet.
Tang Guo’s lips curved slightly. “He originally had nothing. After gaining everything, he still wasn’t satisfied. If not for his insinuations, my mother would not have been run over. Letting him return to having nothing is not excessive at all.”
[Not excessive at all. Host, you are far too merciful.]
Same formula, same flavor. The host’s revenge always took away what the other party valued most.
Tang Guo was in a good mood as she floated out of the villa. When Qin Jiu saw her, he quickly asked, “Why did it take so long?”
“Are you concerned about me, or worried about me?” Tang Guo suddenly moved close to him. He stepped back in surprise. Seeing this, she smiled. “I just happened to uncover a truth and did a little something. That’s why it took longer.”
“What truth?”
Tang Guo told Qin Jiu everything.
After hearing it, Qin Jiu shook his head. “Then he brought it upon himself.”
“Tang Lusheng had a talisman from Fang Tianshi hanging around his neck. It didn’t work on me. It’s already turned to ashes. Do you think Fang Tianshi will come?”
Qin Jiu’s expression grew serious. “He probably will.”
“Fang Tianshi’s cultivation is very high. Many powerful malicious ghosts have fallen at his hands,” Qin Jiu said with concern. “For the next few days, don’t go anywhere alone. Stay with me.”
Tang Guo’s eyes brightened. “You mean, if Fang Tianshi tries to kill me, you’ll definitely protect me?”
“Didn’t you hire me?” Qin Jiu replied solemnly.
“Oh… is that so?”
Hearing the faint disappointment in her tone, Qin Jiu felt slightly anxious. “Well, even if you hadn’t hired me, we’ve known each other this long. I would definitely help you.” As soon as he said it, he saw the teasing look in her eyes. His ears instantly turned red. “You…”
“Mm, I know.” Tang Guo smiled sweetly, leaving him at a loss for words. And to his dismay, he found himself liking that smile.
This really was absurd.
