Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 818

For the next several days, Qin Jiu was busy searching for clues about Song Xiaoyun’s car accident.

The problem was that the accident had occurred on a small road with no surveillance cameras nearby.

The driver responsible had never been found. No matter how wealthy the Tang family was, there was no way to locate the hit and run culprit in such a place.

Very few vehicles passed through that small road each day.

For a time, Qin Jiu was stuck.

“There are no clues at all. Even my divination methods are inaccurate.”

At that moment, the one human and one ghost were standing on that very road. Tang Guo took out the soul summoning banner Mo Yuntian had given her. When Qin Jiu saw the gloomy object, even his soul felt chilled.

As expected, this female ghost was not simple.

She had immortal artifacts and ghost artifacts. What was her true background? She could not merely be the Tang family’s daughter. Could it be that she had originally been a powerful ghost king from the ghost realm who reincarnated into the human world to experience life?

“Qin Jiu, what are you thinking about?” Tang Guo noticed his complicated expression and vacant gaze. She smiled at him. “Are you thinking about how beautiful I am?”

Qin Jiu twitched his lips. Who could explain why this world contained such a narcissistic female ghost?

“Is that a ghost artifact?”

“Yes. I plan to summon the surrounding spirits. There are many wandering ghosts on roads like this. We should be able to learn something.”

“That works.”

Qin Jiu agreed and stepped farther away. The ghost artifact affected him slightly. It gave his soul a distinctly uncomfortable sensation. If he did not restrain himself, he felt as if his soul might drift toward it.

“Qin Jiu, if you refine the immortal sword a little, you won’t be affected by the soul summoning banner.”

Qin Jiu remembered the immortal sword and quickly did as she suggested. After refining it briefly, when he approached the banner again, he no longer felt the same coldness. His soul remained steady within his body and no longer felt like floating out.

About an hour later, many small ghosts gathered around Tang Guo.

With the soul summoning banner present, she did not need to intimidate them with her strength. All the ghosts were obedient and stood respectfully, waiting for her to speak.

“I only have one question.”

She mentioned the day three years ago when Song Xiaoyun had her accident and asked them to recall who had hit her, whether they remembered the license plate number, and what the driver looked like.

Many of the ghosts were newly deceased. They shook their heads, saying they had still been alive three years ago. Tang Guo let them leave.

The remaining spirits had existed longer and furrowed their brows as they tried to recall events from three years ago. Tang Guo thought for a moment and asked Qin Jiu to take out a photo of Song Xiaoyun for them to see.

“Look at the photo and try to remember.”

With the photo, several ghosts soon said they recalled something.

Their memories were incomplete, but together they managed to piece together the license plate number.

As for the driver’s appearance, they could not remember clearly. They only recalled that he was a relatively tall and sturdy man.

With the license plate number, finding the person would be much easier.

Tang Guo glanced at them. “Why are you still wandering spirits? Didn’t your families bring you home?”

If a family did not retrieve the body and conduct proper rites, the soul could not leave the place of death. Over time, such spirits would become wandering ghosts unable to reincarnate.

These small ghosts looked distorted and miserable. They explained that they were from out of town and that their families had never come to retrieve them, leaving them as wandering spirits.

“Oh. Then I’ll help you transcend and send you to reincarnate,” Tang Guo said with a smile. “It’s also my thanks for helping me.”
