Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 775

“Hubby, hurry and have this bad guy dragged out and whipped,” Tang Guo said, clinging to Feng Ming’s arm. “These bad people are always trying to break us apart.”

Feng Yu was about to say something else when a swarm of zombies rushed in from outside, seized his game character, dragged him out, tied him to a tall pillar, and lashed him hard with whips soaked in salt water.

Feng Yu stared blankly at the computer screen. His mind echoed with one thought only. Xiao Guo does not remember. She does not remember anything that once belonged to us.

She called the zombie king in the game her husband and spoke those words of reliance. His heart shattered.

After a long daze, Feng Yu finally made up his mind. He would destroy the zombie king and the entire zombie town. No matter what, he would bring Xiao Guo out.

His fingers flew across the keyboard. Even when urgent matters about the holographic game project came from the company, he said he had no time and told them to suspend it.

Nothing was more important than getting his Xiao Guo back. This time, he would not lose her again.

He had wanted to reset the game, but found he still could not. Afraid that forcing a reset might cause other problems, he did what he had done before. He copied the original version and began modifying the data.

He noticed a pattern. As long as the game was launched, Xiao Guo would appear in the new game.

Through the computer, Tang Guo saw everything Feng Yu was doing and gave a soft laugh. “Naive.” From the day she decided to enter the game, she had never intended to leave.

She wanted Feng Yu to know she existed. She would be within reach, yet forever beyond his grasp. She would make him live in guilt and pain for the rest of his life.

Over the next few days, Feng Yu immersed himself in altering the game data. He even conceived a bold idea. He would eliminate the zombie king, take his place, slowly gain Xiao Guo’s trust, and then find a way to bring her out.

When hungry, he casually ordered takeout. When thirsty, he grabbed whatever drink was nearby. When too busy even for that, he went straight to the tap and drank water.

Xia Yi sat to the side with a numb expression. She posted an announcement in the livestream that she would not be streaming for the next few days due to personal matters. Then she simply watched Feng Yu descend into obsession.

She had seen him busy with work before, but never like this, disregarding everything just to achieve his goal.

She had to admit it. Feng Yu truly liked that girl named Tang Guo.

As Xia Yi watched the smile on Feng Yu’s face, cold sweat broke out across her body. At first, she thought he simply liked Tang Guo too much. Then one day, she overheard his words, and fear gripped her.

“Xiao Guo, this time I will definitely bring you out. I will never hurt you again, all right?”

“I am sorry, Xiao Guo. If I had known how important you were to me, I would never have designed that scheme to take your body.”

Xia Yi’s eyes widened. She stumbled back several steps, her heart pounding wildly. Her mind went blank for a long while before she recovered.

So it was not an accident last time. Ah Yu had planned it from the beginning.

“In this conspiracy of love, I achieved my goal, yet in the end I am the one who lost,” Feng Yu murmured, as if he had forgotten Xia Yi was even there. While typing code, he recalled his past with Tang Guo and unconsciously revealed the truth of his original scheme.

“I will return your body to you. When you recover, we will go see your parents and set the wedding date.”

  1. Part of me thinks it would be interesting if it was Xia Yi that revealed Feng Yu’s crime (after all, she is just the brain waves of a high schooler, and she technically had no involvement in any of this). But of course, the way she’s written in the story, she probably values being in a body too much.
