After the aged beastman finished speaking, he walked toward the city gate with a numb expression. He wanted to abandon everything here, leave this forest that had brought him endless sorrow, leave Ning Luo and her mates, and leave her detestable children.
Listening to the old beastman’s words, Tang Guo could not help but smile. “Still hasn’t understood.”
“Ah Guoguo.” Yin Yao, whose strength and senses were sharp enough to hear the old beastman’s words as well, pulled her into his arms. “Don’t mind them.”
“I never minded them,” Tang Guo said with a smile. “What I care about, don’t you already know, Ah Yao?” She noticed the tips of Yin Yao’s ears turning visibly red. She burst out laughing and leaned into his arms.
“They deserve it,” Aoli said with cold sarcasm. “They got a bad outcome, yet instead of thinking about what they did wrong, they always push the blame onto others. Wasn’t it the original members of the Lado tribe who suggested handing Ah Guoguo over in the first place?” She sneered. “If they had truly come to some realization, they would understand that it was their own wrongdoing. Ning Luo has her faults, but the bigger fault lies with themselves.”
Tang Guo glanced at the unusually agitated Aoli and called out, “Alright, Aoli. You were never this worked up before.”
“How could I not be angry? The more I think about it, the angrier I get,” Aoli said as she looked down from above at the Lado tribe members entering the city one after another. “I really want to go down and ask them whether today feels like back when they demanded Ah Guoguo leave. Only today they are abandoning each other. I have to say, Ah Guoguo, this move of yours is truly satisfying. Extremely satisfying.”
Her gaze finally landed on Gaien and Ning Luo, and she snorted. “I also want to see how long Gaien and Ning Luo can keep insisting on not abandoning each other.”
Tang Guo rested her chin on her hand. “Mm, let’s keep watching. Let’s see whether their feelings are truly unbreakable, or if they will snap at the first bend.”
“Ah Guoguo, what would you and Yin Yao do if you encountered such a situation?” Aoli suddenly asked.
Tang Guo raised her eyebrows. “No. Ah Yao and I would never encounter such a situation. Instead of asking that, you might as well ask whether there would be a Mata Kingdom like today if the one taken to the Mata Kingdom back then had been Ning Luo. There is no comparison. I can change my own fate, and I can also change the fate of the entire beastman world. I would never fall into that situation.”
Aoli stared at Tang Guo, whose brows were lifted with confidence. She froze for a moment, then lowered her head and smiled, murmuring, “Right. There is no comparison. No one can compare to Ah Guoguo. No matter where you are, you are different. You can not only turn your own fate around, but also change the fate of others.”
[Host, do you know that Aoli’s soul fluctuations are abnormal?]
“I know,” Tang Guo replied.
[Oh, I thought you hadn’t noticed.]
“She is being so obvious. How could I not notice? The thickness of her soul is clearly different now. I just didn’t expect her to reincarnate, or perhaps it should be called awakening memories of a previous life. Many of her traits are still similar to this life, except she is a bit more irritable.”
[Host, you do not have much time left in this world. Based on the time when Ah Guoguo died, your lifespan needed to be extended by ten years. This time it was extended by twenty years. There are currently three years left.]
“I understand. I am used to it. Don’t talk to me in such a sorrowful tone. You are not human anyway, just a system.”
The system fell silent. Could it not be a little sentimental?
Tang Guo suddenly reacted. “Extended by twenty years?”
