Mike and Mier followed the route Tang Guo had told them about long ago, slowly making their way toward the Mata Kingdom.
After asking about their destination, Aoli hugged each of them and planted a kiss on their cheeks. “Mike, Mier, you really are worthy of being my mates. You understand me so well. Yes, we’re going to find Ah Guoguo. I wonder how she’s doing in the Beastman Kingdom.”
Mike and Mier felt a little helpless. Their Aoli was truly simple and kind.
Ah Guoguo had already anticipated that Aoli would leave the tribe with them. She had even warned them that even if Aoli did not plan to leave the Lado Tribe, they still had to take her away.
They had asked her back then, “Where should we go?”
“Mata Kingdom,” she answered. “Come find me there. Judging by the timing, it should be safe by the time you arrive.”
Mike and Mier now completely trusted Ah Guoguo’s wisdom, but they were still extremely cautious as they approached the Mata Kingdom.
Before they even reached the borders of the Mata Kingdom, they heard many Beastmen discussing recent events. A few months earlier, a political upheaval had taken place in the Mata Kingdom. King Lari had been killed by his younger brother Xili, who had taken the throne.
Even more astonishing, King Xili had publicly announced the identity of the sage at his side. That sage was named Ah Guoguo.
Aoli, along with Mike and Mier, stood there dumbfounded. Could this Ah Guoguo really be the Ah Guoguo they knew?
“Mike, Mier, could she be the Ah Guoguo we’re looking for?” Aoli asked excitedly. “Is it her? It must be her, right? It has to be my good friend Ah Guoguo.”
“Yes, Aoli. It must be Ah Guoguo,” Mike and Mier said without hesitation.
They were not lying to her. They believed that the powerful sage could only be Ah Guoguo. Only she could have foreseen so many things, only she could have helped the disadvantaged Xili seize control of the Mata Kingdom, and only she could have brought so many changes and helped the kingdom expand its territory.
“Ah Guoguo.” The sadness on Aoli’s face vanished. She grabbed Mike and Mier’s hands and rushed toward the city of the Mata Kingdom, her excitement impossible to hide.
They were stopped by the guards at the city gates. Aoli shouted, “I’m Ah Guoguo’s friend. My name is Aoli. I’m here to find Ah Guoguo.”
Mike and Mier wanted to stop her. After all, these guards might not know who Aoli was.
Unexpectedly, once the guards heard the name Aoli and asked for Mike and Mier’s names as well, their expressions immediately became respectful. “So it’s Lady Aoli. Please come in. Lady Ah Guoguo has been waiting for you for a long time.”
This time, Aoli was overwhelmed with joy and burst into tears. It really was Ah Guoguo. She hugged Mike and Mier, kissing them repeatedly, until they finally led her inside.
When they saw Tang Guo, she was in the middle of eating a table full of delicious food. Xili had assigned many attendants to serve her, and she no longer needed to hold anything back. Xili looked at her the way one might look at a deity, and she had no intention of mistreating herself.
Aoli stared at the spread of food on Tang Guo’s table. The rich aroma drifted into her nose. These were dishes she had never seen before.
Fox senses were sharp, and even Mike and Mier almost lost control. It smelled far too good.
Still, none of them touched the food. They went straight to Tang Guo first.
Aoli ran over and threw her arms around Tang Guo, crying. “Ah Guoguo, you’re really fine. You’re even a sage now. They all call you Lady Ah Guoguo, and they even call me Lady Aoli.”
“I’m fine. Get down, I’m eating,” Tang Guo said, pushing Aoli away with mild disgust. Then she invited Mike and Mier to sit down and eat together.
