Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 677

“Where are you going?” Tang Guo asked. In the book, it was written that after every Beast Tide, Yin Yao would leave the tribe for a period of time, usually one or two months, sometimes up to half a year.

As for what he went to do, there was very little description of Yin Yao in the first half of the story. His origins were never explained, not even by the end.

Yin Yao paused, the smile fading from his face. “To investigate a secret.”

“What secret?”

He tapped Tang Guo on the forehead. “Ah Guoguo is really curious.”

“The secret of the Beast Tide,” he said, choosing not to hide it. They had just acknowledged their feelings for each other. She had not yet come of age, so there was no need to rush. Once she did, they could formally hold the ceremony.

Tang Guo was surprised. “The secret of the Beast Tide?”

“Yes.” Yin Yao nodded, his gaze fixed on the rolling dust drawing closer. “I have experienced many Beast Tides. You could say I have followed my father through countless Beast Tides since I was young. Once, my father realized that the Beast Tide that appears once every year is very strange. No matter where the tribe members hide, those beasts always rush toward them.”

“What is even stranger is that no matter how severe the casualties are, some people are always left alive in the end. Those extremely ferocious beasts seem to receive some kind of command when the time comes and retreat rapidly.”

“When my father was still alive, he went every year to search for the secret of the Beast Tide,” Yin Yao said in a low voice. “But many years ago, during one such trip, he never came back. I only found records about the Beast Tide in his dwelling and inherited everything he left behind. If my father met with an accident, then I should inherit all of it and continue searching for this secret.”

Tang Guo asked, “You followed those beasts?”

“Yes.” Yin Yao nodded. “I have followed them for five years now. Every time, I follow them to a certain place, and then they vanish without a trace. But each time, I am able to follow them a little farther. If I keep going, sooner or later I will uncover the secret of why the Beast Tide attacks the Beastman tribes every year.”

Tang Guo found this world more interesting now. Before, she had thought it was just an ordinary Beastman world. From what Yin Yao said, it was clearly not that simple.

“Tongzi, is there any hidden plot about this world?”

[No, Host. This is a Beastman novel. Anything beyond the content of this book is blank. If you ask how old Yin Yao was when he stopped wetting the bed, I might be able to find that. But as for the secret of the Beast Tide, it is not mentioned anywhere in this novel.]

The system was also puzzled. It had never encountered a situation like this before.

The Beast Tide. Was it some kind of conspiracy created by someone? If so, what was the purpose?

Tang Guo rested her chin on her hand. “I am actually quite interested. It has been a long time since I ran into something interesting.” A Beast Tide that occurs at a fixed time every year was intriguing. Who was behind it, and what was their goal?

A thunderous roar erupted.

It was the sound of beasts charging forward. Both Tang Guo and Yin Yao felt the mountain tremble. The surrounding grass and trees swayed violently, and Yin Yao instinctively pulled Tang Guo into his arms.

They both stared downward. In the distant forest, clouds of dust burst upward, followed by all kinds of wild beasts rushing out, fierce and violent. They smashed into trees and rocks alike, as if completely insane, charging straight toward their position.

From the beasts’ eyes, Tang Guo saw a savage gleam, a ferocity that looked as though it wanted to devour its prey whole.
