As the sky gradually darkened, Tang Guo turned and went back into her cave. She picked up a piece of dried meat and packed some dried fruit, then headed toward a more remote stone house in the tribe.
When she arrived at the door of the stone house, she called out, “High Priest, are you in?”
The sweet voice of the young girl carried into the house, making Yin Yao pause. Through the loosely covered door, he saw Ah Guoguo’s slender figure and responded.
“I’m here.”
“High Priest, open the door.”
“What’s the matter?”
Yin Yao was puzzled. Why would Ah Guoguo suddenly come looking for him? Wasn’t this little female always hiding behind others whenever she saw him, casting fearful glances?
Tang Guo smiled brightly. “Just open the door first.”
Yin Yao, filled with curiosity, opened the door, though in reality, it was just a simple barrier made from woven vines. If Tang Guo wanted to force her way in, it would’ve been easy.
But the High Priest had the most eccentric temperament in the entire tribe and also held the most exalted status. Without his permission, no tribe member dared offend him and they all respected him greatly.
That was because Yin Yao had helped the tribe through many crises, and he also knew medicinal herbs and could treat sick or injured members, earning the tribe’s reverence as a divine figure.
Once the door opened, Yin Yao appeared in the doorway. He was very tall, his muscles well-defined and streamlined. He appeared slender from afar, unlike Gaien, who looked massive and explosive.
He was draped in a layer of snowy white animal hide, with long jet-black hair cascading down his back. Around his neck hung a necklace made of animal bones, also snow white, and his wrist bore a bone bracelet carved with intricate patterns.
Standing in front of him, Tang Guo still looked like a little girl. She glanced up at Yin Yao’s overly handsome face and beamed. “High Priest, let’s talk inside.”
Yin Yao’s expression stiffened slightly under the bright gaze of the beautiful little female. He looked at her with a reserved, unfriendly expression, furrowing his brows. “Ah Guoguo, what exactly is the matter?”
“Let’s talk inside, it’s not convenient out here.”
Tang Guo didn’t miss the momentary stiffness in Yin Yao’s expression. That act of his, pretending to be a lofty master, nearly made her burst out laughing.
This high priest was clearly a repressed flirt. She took a step forward and directly pushed Yin Yao into the room, following him in.
Yin Yao didn’t react in time and was really pushed in. By the time he realized, the little female had already helped herself to a seat inside, placing the dried meat and fruit on the stone table, smiling as she looked at him.
“High Priest, come in. Why are you still standing outside?”
Yin Yao’s steps were stiff. Every other tribe member always greeted him with the utmost respect. No one had ever dared speak to him in such a casual, cheeky tone.
Let alone push him!
When had this little female gotten so bold?
It felt a bit awkward, but also a bit refreshing, especially when Ah Guoguo smiled. For some reason, he unconsciously closed the door and walked into the room.
“Why did you come looking for me? Is someone injured or sick?” Yin Yao asked seriously.
Tang Guo sat on a slightly tall stone stool. The furnishings in the High Priest’s house were more “advanced” and practical than in other members’ homes.
Her two slender legs, exposed beneath the animal hide, dangled and swung, making Yin Yao a little dizzy. He gave a light cough and averted his gaze.
“Ah Guoguo.”
“Yeah!”
Tang Guo answered with a sweet smile. Her obedient look left Yin Yao at a loss for how to scold her.
System: That’s definitely the unlucky soul who time-travels and loses his memory every time. No doubt about it. Otherwise, the host wouldn’t be messing with him right off the bat.
