Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 611

Chen Ying was seething with anger after dealing with Chen Fangfang. Then later, no matter where she went, countless people were talking about Song Ye. And when they talked about Song Ye, they would naturally bring up Tang Guo.

She suddenly realized that Song Ye was no longer the same man from her past life. That wooden, stiff man now doted on Tang Guo so much.

Hearing the things people said made Chen Ying burn with jealousy.

This man and she had tormented each other and wasted a lifetime together. He was never a considerate person, so why would he treat Tang Guo so well?

She heard people mention that Song Ye had once said he enjoyed pampering his wife and cherishing their emotional bond. He didn’t want any third party interfering in their relationship. Not just other people, but even the children they might have.

So Song Ye was devoted to his wife to the point of not wanting children, and even jealous of them?

Chen Ying felt incredibly upset, extremely upset.

How could this be? How could that man act like this?

On the third day, Xie Shijun invited Song Ye to dinner. He picked a pretty nice restaurant, one of the more expensive ones in Tang County. But both Xie Shijun and Xu Qiulan thought it was appropriate.

Only Chen Ying complained to Xie Shijun, “Shijun, is it necessary to go somewhere that expensive?”

Although Xie Shijun had received a resettlement allowance after retiring from the military, and it was a good sum, it was all under her control. But ever since they came back to Tang County and saw the local standard of living, Chen Ying felt bitter inside.

That allowance probably wouldn’t impress anyone in Tang County. Even though she had made some money over the years, it still couldn’t compare to the people here.

“This is the right thing to do,” Xie Shijun said, a little displeased. “We’re treating Director Song to dinner. We can’t take him somewhere too shabby. This place is just right.”

Chen Ying was a little angry, especially when she realized that everything Xie Shijun said hinted at his admiration for Song Ye. She really wanted to take a club and knock some sense into this man. If this wasn’t boosting someone else’s prestige at your own expense, then what was it?

How come she never noticed before that Xie Shijun only had eyes for money?

Xie Shijun noticed that Chen Ying was angry at him.

Just yesterday, he had gone on at length about how impressive Song Ye was, but Chen Ying had brushed it off and even said some belittling things. That really made him uncomfortable.

Maybe because he could tell Chen Ying didn’t want to talk about Song Ye, he dropped the subject and forgot to tell her that this dinner was to thank Song Ye for helping him secure a job.

When Tang Guo and Song Ye arrived at the restaurant, Xie Shijun was already waiting at the entrance. When he saw them, he warmly invited them to the private room.

Chen Ying stood off to the side, her face a little stiff. But it was still clear she was trying to maintain a smile. Tang Guo could tell, though, that she wouldn’t be able to keep it up for long.

She nodded slightly to the two of them and leaned against Song Ye. Song Ye wrapped his arm around her waist. At a glance, they were clearly a couple with a strong relationship, just like the rumors said.

The people at the restaurant all recognized Song Ye and Tang Guo. After all, they were already regulars here. Whenever someone invited Song Ye for a meal, they would always add, “Just inviting Director Song and Madam Song for a simple meal.”

Knowing how much Song Ye doted on his wife, no one dared to underestimate Tang Guo. Besides, she had another identity, she was the daughter of the county magistrate.

And ever since Song Ye announced that the entire urban plan for Tang County had been designed by Tang Guo, who would dare to look down on her?
