Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 598

When Song Ye opened the branch office, Song Qing and Li Fan’s wedding preparations were also nearly complete.

The two of them now held significant status, and the guests attending their wedding were all notable figures in Beijing.

It wasn’t until three days before the wedding that Song Qing informed the Song family. As for whether they came or not, that was none of her business.

Inside the hall, Tang Guo was holding Song Ye’s hand when he subtly pointed to a man seated in a certain spot, saying that man was his father.

“He looks much older than he did years ago.” Song Ye smiled. “We just met face-to-face, and he actually didn’t recognize me. Looks like in his heart, I really don’t count as his son.”

He figured the Song family probably had no idea about his situation in Tang County. Maybe they had even forgotten where he had gone.

Otherwise, with the scale of what he had accomplished, those two elders from the Song family would have already ordered him to return to Beijing.

“Those two old ones are here too.” Song Ye pointed out two other elders to Tang Guo. She looked over and saw the two sitting off to the side, listening to the congratulations from those around them, their expressions not looking particularly pleasant.

However, the two seemed to care about saving face and likely wouldn’t cause a scene at the wedding.

Finally, Song Ye pointed out a young man and woman, both having graduated only a couple of years ago. They worked in government offices and were dressed more fashionably than the others, their demeanor a bit arrogant.

After the wedding ended, the Song family finally realized Song Ye had returned. All their attention turned to him.

“When did you come back, Xiao Ye? Why didn’t you inform the family?” Song Shengrong looked at Song Ye with a stern face, his brows furrowed, and his impatient gaze swept over Song Ye and Tang Guo. “You’re already married and didn’t even inform the family. Do you even regard me as your father? You’re still as arrogant and stubborn as before.”

“Enough, don’t scold the child. Coming back is a good thing.” Zhou Yafeng quickly tried to smooth things over, glancing at Tang Guo. “How long have you two been married?”

A trace of mockery crossed Song Ye’s lips as he replied, “Seven years.”

The atmosphere turned a bit stiff. Seven years wasn’t short at all.

Zhou Yafeng looked at how young and pretty Tang Guo was and had assumed they had just recently married.

“What about children? Did you bring the child back with you?”

System: [Host, I have a feeling something’s about to happen.]

Tang Guo curled her lips slightly. “My Ah Ye doesn’t care about them, nothing will happen.”

System: [Alright… okay.] Song Ye really was different from the men of this era.

Sure enough, when the Song family heard that they didn’t have children yet, they nearly jumped out of their seats. How could they be married for seven years and not have a child?

The Song family immediately cast suspicious eyes at Tang Guo. From their looks, Tang Guo could tell they were placing the blame on her.

“Xiao Ye, it’s not that Grandma’s blaming you, but being married for so many years, no matter what, there has to be a child,” said the old lady of the Song family, almost outright stating that a woman who couldn’t bear children shouldn’t be kept. You should hurry up and divorce, and Grandma will introduce you to a young girl who can have children.

This family was also quite sharp. Even though they didn’t know exactly what Song Ye had accomplished, judging from his distinguished appearance, they could tell he must be doing well now.

Besides, now that Elder Yuan had been rehabilitated, and there was Song Qing, such a capable sister, there was no way Song Ye could be doing poorly.

With all this, the two elders of the Song family began to have some ideas.

Especially after hearing the two had no children and considering Tang Guo’s rural background, they thought she was unworthy of being their Song family’s granddaughter-in-law.

  1. Lol aren’t they even more “rural” with their obsession with children? I mean they don’t seem to grasp the concept of “choosing not to have children” while living in the metropolis. I mean even most people in the village accepted that…
