“I heard it.”
Tang Guo replied. She did not expect that Feng Feiling would be so unable to hold back, confessing everything so clearly before anyone even forced her. Did she really think that once she overcame the tribulation, everything would be fine?
[Host, you realize she only lost her composure because you pushed her into it? Now she spends all day suspecting the heavens are targeting her. Otherwise, how come whenever she tries to do something, it never goes smoothly? Ever since she went to the demonic cultivators’ territory to cause trouble she never ran into any problems again, so she simply embraced becoming demonic.]
[No matter how strong a person’s will is, once they fall into demonic ways, their temperament will change. Their temper will be more impulsive and irritable than before.]
“You were the one who took me away from the Leng family back then?”
Seeing Tang Guo appear, Leng Yeling couldn’t wait to ask. The pleading look on his face seemed to say, This must be a lie, right?
Mo Yuntian’s expression grew hard to describe. No wonder the school flower never looked kindly on this guy. So there was such a hidden history between them.
This foolish disciple of his had gotten the person wrong from the very start, creating this entanglement with Feng Feiling.
“It’s not you, right?” Leng Yeling blurted out anxiously, not waiting for Tang Guo to reply.
Tang Guo lightly curled her lips. “I don’t remember.”
Leng Yeling’s heart sank. He couldn’t quite bring himself to meet her gaze. In truth, Feng Feiling’s behavior already proved she hadn’t lied. But he simply didn’t want to believe he’d misidentified the person. Not only that, he’d harmed the one who had really saved him.
For the sake of someone who wanted to destroy them, he’d protected her all the way and even done things that betrayed his principles.
Because of Feng Feiling, he left the Demon Sect, left the master who had treated him the best, personally crippled the spiritual roots of his true benefactor, and helped Feng Feiling commit countless atrocities.
Anyone who dared to so much as offend Feng Feiling even a little, he would at best cripple their cultivation, at worst take their life.
He stared blankly up at the tribulation cloud in the sky. A kind of resignation welled up inside. If he had truly been wrong all along, then let this lightning tribulation take his life. Let his death be an act of atonement.
Tang Guo saw his thoughts, and she wasn’t surprised at all. Leng Yeling was always so proud. Unable to admit his own mistakes, he would only choose to run away.
But Feng Feiling didn’t care about any of that. She was about to overcome the tribulation. Once she succeeded, so what if everyone knew what she had done?
If she couldn’t stay here, she would go to the Immortal Realm. There would still be a place for her there.
She refused to believe Tang Guo would dare step in and stop her from crossing her tribulation. If she did, it would provoke a massive lightning tribulation that would kill everyone.
And judging from Leng Yeling’s condition, he probably wouldn’t survive.
Leng Yeling didn’t miss the delight in Feng Feiling’s eyes. His heart went utterly cold, and he felt even less desire to resist the lightning.
Just as the thunder tribulation was about to descend, Tang Guo turned her gaze to Wen Yi and the others. Her pleasant voice rang out. “Feng Feiling, to celebrate your tribulation today, I spent over a decade preparing a great gift for you.”
Seeing the final bolt about to strike, Tang Guo’s words almost made Feng Feiling’s mouth twist in rage.
She said disdainfully, “Don’t try to disturb my mind. I won’t be fooled.”
“I know. You are a person of firm will. As a reborn person, you wouldn’t be shaken so easily, right?”
Just the words “reborn person” made Feng Feiling’s expression change dramatically. She stared at Tang Guo in disbelief.
“You…you…” Feng Feiling’s mind was thrown into chaos, but feeling the pressure gathering above, she quickly gathered her mind. She mustn’t be fooled, absolutely mustn’t.
“Trying to disturb my mind, impossible!”
Tang Guo lowered her head and smiled lightly. “I already said you are a person of firm will. You’re not so easily swayed. But before you overcome your tribulation, why don’t you take a look at the gift I prepared for you?”
