Feng Feiling’s heart was in chaos, but her face remained calm.
She looked at Tang Guo, her beautiful and flamboyant face showing a mocking yet radiant smile.
“Tang Guo, in order to frame me, you even went as far as to collude with a demonic cultivator!”
Tang Guo smiled, “Oh… is that so?”
She glanced at the demonic cultivator. A flash of madness crossed his face, and he directly pulled out an image stone.
“Whether what I said is true or not, you’ll know after watching what’s recorded in here.”
Before Feng Feiling could react, he activated the image stone, allowing everyone to view the scene inside.
It was a somewhat dark room, but the contents were still clearly visible.
There were two people. One was the demonic cultivator himself, and the other was Feng Feiling.
Inside, Feng Feiling was heard saying that she would offer a precious pill as payment, asking the demonic cultivator to deal with someone. That person was Pei Xue.
They saw Feng Feiling with a vicious expression, saying she wanted Pei Xue to die in misery and that the demonic cultivator could do whatever he wanted with her.
Everyone’s eyes widened. The Pei family was both shocked and furious.
As for the Sect Master of Shengyuan Sect, he let out a sigh of relief. With this solid evidence, Ji Chengshan’s name was cleared.
Wen Ziqiu also froze. He couldn’t believe that the crazed, vengeful woman in the image stone was Feng Feiling, the one he had loved so deeply.
Leng Yeling couldn’t help but take a step back, looking at Feng Feiling with unfamiliar eyes.
If Feng Feiling had taken revenge on Tang Guo for framing her and attempting to destroy her spiritual root, that would have been understandable.
But Pei Xue had never done anything to wrong Feng Feiling.
A long time ago, he had already noticed that Feng Feiling could be extremely radical at times. But he liked her. Even if she had flaws, he could tolerate them.
He had loved her deeply, ever since he woke up after his entire sect was wiped out, dragged into a cave by a little girl. The first thing he saw upon opening his eyes was that girl in red. He recognized her instantly.
Even after Mo Yuntian brought him back to the Demon Sect, he never forgot.
Fortunately, he had met her again later.
If he hadn’t seen that image stone with his own eyes, he never would have believed that the person who harmed Pei Xue was Feng Feiling. She had spoken with such venom, declaring that Pei Xue should suffer unbearably and giving the demonic cultivator full permission to treat her however he pleased, even to invite others to join in.
Feng Feiling never expected the demonic cultivator to be so devious, to leave behind an image stone and record everything while she wasn’t paying attention.
Tang Guo hadn’t anticipated it either. She didn’t have complete clarity over the story’s timeline. Every event had the potential to shift things.
Originally, she had planned to find Pei Xue first. Before she could act, she heard about the life-or-death duel between Feng Feiling and Ji Chengshan and understood that Pei Xue was already dead. Man proposes. Heaven disposes.
Just like those other geniuses she had rescued, she was not a savior. If she could save them, she did. If she couldn’t, then that sliver of hope simply was not theirs to have.
“Ling’er, did you really do this?” The one who struggled most to accept it was Leng Yeling. This woman in red had always been a ray of light in his heart.
It was that light that supported him as he grew stronger and finally took revenge for his blood feud with his own hands.
Feng Feiling pressed her lips together. A flash of madness passed through her expression. “So what if I did?”
“Didn’t you say you liked me? Just because I killed Pei Xue, you think I’m vicious? Did you never wonder why I did it?”
Listening to Feng Feiling’s words grow more and more outrageous, the Pei family finally couldn’t hold back.
“Xue’er has always been a kind girl. What did she ever do to you? What kind of hatred do you have that you would treat her like this?”
