Luo Chen thought he was done for. The overwhelming aura of those people was truly terrifying, as if they were about to cut him down with their blades.
The first person to reach him grabbed him by the collar and swiftly leaped out of the river, running as he shouted, “Holy Maiden Aunt, I fished it out! I fished it out!”
Luo Chen: “……” Brother, are you sure you didn’t fish up the wrong thing? He was a person, okay?
“Holy Maiden Aunt, I fished it out… huh? It’s a person!” The Demon Sect disciple placed Luo Chen on the ground, then patted his own head in frustration. “How is it a person?”
Luo Chen: I told you, you fished up the wrong thing.
The other disciples who hadn’t managed to snatch the prize burst into laughter. They had all thought it was some kind of treasure, only to find out it was a person, and a man no less.
If it had been a beauty, they wouldn’t have laughed. But since it was a man, they just couldn’t help themselves.
“You didn’t fish up the wrong thing. I told you to fish up a person.”
Luo Chen forced his heavy eyelids open and saw a woman in white standing above him. She wore a light veil over a white bamboo hat, concealing her face, but her voice was pleasant to listen to, as if it could ease his pain.
“Young man, I see that you have unique bones and an extraordinary fate. Why not join my Demon Sect?”
No one present had expected Tang Guo to say this to Luo Chen the moment she spoke.
Mo Yuntian’s mouth twitched uncontrollably. Bai Wuqing’s heart tightened as he quickly examined Luo Chen. Seeing that he looked rather disheveled and his appearance was ordinary, he discreetly withdrew his gaze.
His appearance was ordinary, his cultivation was average, and there was nothing outstanding about him that could catch Xiao Guo’s attention. If she wanted him to join the Demon Sect, there had to be another reason.
Luo Chen was stunned. Was this young lady talking to him?
“Feed him a healing pill.”
The Demon Sect disciples immediately pulled out healing pills. Several of them crowded around, each stuffing a few into Luo Chen’s mouth.
Luo Chen quickly swallowed them, afraid that if he didn’t, he might choke to death. Did these people not value their pills? Did the strong really save lives so casually?
Luo Chen regained some strength and pushed himself up, only then realizing that there were dozens of people around him.
Mo Yuntian coughed lightly. “I am Mo Yuntian.”
“The Sect Master of Demon Sect?!” Luo Chen was shocked. Why was the Sect Master of Demon Sect here?
“This is my sister, the Holy Maiden Aunt of the Demon Sect and the new hope of our sect.” Mo Yuntian figured his dignity was already long gone, so he might as well just lay it all out. Anyone his sister took an interest in was never ordinary.
They were all valuable talents, and he had to bring them into the Demon Sect. He couldn’t just stand by and watch.
“No matter what you’ve been through, joining my Demon Sect would be a good choice for you. If you want revenge, take it. As long as you don’t do anything that harms the sect, that’s all that matters.”
Mo Yuntian had confidence in his judgment. This young man was not simple. His injuries were more severe than they appeared. An ordinary person would have long since succumbed to them.
Luo Chen thought of his predicament. Betrayed by his closest friend, abandoned without hesitation by the woman he loved, and disregarded by his own family, who feared offending the other party and refused to take any action.
It seemed that aside from joining the Demon Sect, he really had no other path.
No matter what kind of reputation the Demon Sect had, at least these people had saved his life.
“Alright, I’ll join. My name is Luo Chen. I was once part of the Luo family, but from now on, I am a member of the Demon Sect.”
Mo Yuntian grinned from ear to ear. Good, joining was good. If the Demon Sect continued like this, it would only grow stronger. Now that they no longer had to worry about resources, the more people, the better.
Just then, a golden vortex suddenly appeared on the river.
