The restructuring of the Demon Sect Feisha Branch went smoothly. In the cultivation world, taking over small factions like this was incredibly easy. A mix of force and benefits was enough to make them submit.
As for genuine loyalty, that didn’t exist in the cultivation world. As long as the Demon Sect grew stronger and everyone understood that following it brought endless benefits, they wouldn’t betray it.
Wen Yi’s days were going quite well. He had exceptional talent, but the techniques and opportunities meant for him had long been taken by others. leaving him with nothing but raw potential.
Now that he had become Tang Guo’s disciple, he was given top-tier techniques, abundant resources, and his cultivation improved day by day.
Every time he came to see Tang Guo, he was especially well-behaved, his face full of gratitude. Over time, his respect and affection for her grew.
He also realized that the more respectful and deferential he was toward Tang Guo, the less likely Bai Wuqing was to shoot him cold looks. He wasn’t stupid, this man was clearly his master’s admirer.
“Wen Yi.”
“Disciple is here.” Wen Yi cupped his hands and bowed deeply, his black eyes bright and attentive.
“Cultivate well. You’ll have many junior brothers and sisters in the future. As the eldest disciple, you’ll be responsible for looking after them.”
Wen Yi froze. Many junior brothers and sisters? What did Master mean by that?
But seeing his master focused on her map, drawing and marking it with a pleased expression, he didn’t ask any further.
Today hadn’t been easy for him. He didn’t want to lose such a good master, so he simply nodded. “I will work hard in my cultivation so I can take care of my junior brothers and sisters in the future.”
He had to do his best and keep his master from worrying.
Bai Wuqing suddenly spoke up. “If you have any questions about swordsmanship, you can come to me.”
Tang Guo glanced at him, and Bai Wuqing maintained an indifferent expression. “I have nothing better to do. Xiao Guo, you’re busy, and I’m skilled with the sword. It’ll be good for Wen Yi.”
“Then listen to him, Wen Yi. He really is an excellent swordsman.” Tang Guo chuckled. “Back then, I begged him so many times, but he never agreed to personally spar with me. He only ever tossed me a sword manual and told me to practice on my own.”
Bai Wuqing: ”……”
Wen Yi: ”……”
“If you want to practice, you can come to me anytime.” Bai Wuqing quickly added. His usually indifferent face showed a rare hint of urgency, and Wen Yi couldn’t help but notice something.
There was definitely some untold story between Bai Wuqing and his master.
“I’m not interested in swordsmanship anymore.” Tang Guo continued looking at her map, smiling faintly. Her tone carried a trace of indifference, but when Bai Wuqing heard it, it felt like she was saying, I’m not interested in you anymore either.
This left Bai Wuqing momentarily dazed, and a little disappointed.
“Wen Yi, just call him Elder Bai. He’s Bai Wuqing of the Xingyue Sect.”
Wen Yi nearly lost his footing. Bai Wuqing?? Wasn’t he a legendary figure?
“Oh, and I used to be his disciple. Not anymore. A year ago, I had my spiritual root crippled and was expelled from Xingyue Sect. My enemies are Feng Feiling and Leng Yeling. Wen Yi, remember that.”
Wen Yi’s expression cracked.
Tang Guo had been Bai Wuqing’s disciple? He had heard of her before, a peerless genius, only three years older than him, who had reached the Golden Core stage before turning fifteen. And now… she was his master?
Her enemies were Feng Feiling and… Leng Yeling???
Wasn’t Leng Yeling the Demon Sect’s Young Sect Master?
“Don’t overthink it. I’m telling you this so you won’t be deceived in the future. Focus on your cultivation.”
Wen Yi numbly nodded, still struggling to process everything. His master’s life was truly extraordinary.
They were both under twenty, so why was his master a thousand times more impressive than him?
