Leng Yeling had initially wanted to storm out, but then he recalled that Tang Guo had infiltrated the Demon Sect, and he was convinced she had ulterior motives.
He didn’t even have time to look for Feng Feiling anymore. Instead, he spent his days within the sect, secretly observing Tang Guo to uncover what she truly intended by coming to the Demon Sect.
After observing for several days, the atmosphere in the Demon Sect and the disciples’ perception of Tang Guo made Leng Yeling deeply worried about the sect’s future, leaving him even less inclined to search for Feng Feiling.
He was determined to expose Tang Guo’s true nature and let all the Demon Sect disciples know that she was a malicious person who would bring harm to the sect.
“Young Master, you just don’t understand Holy Maiden Aunt. She’s a really good person.”
“That’s right. Holy Maiden Aunt taught us how to cultivate spiritual plants and even led us to seize resources.”
Leng Yeling wanted to say that wasn’t her true nature.
But these disciples seemed as if they were under a spell. “Young Sect Master, we hope you won’t speak ill of Holy Maiden Aunt again.”
Seeing the angry expressions of a few disciples, Leng Yeling was so frustrated he nearly collapsed.
Tang Guo truly had some impressive tricks. She had managed to completely manipulate his Demon Sect disciples.
“What exactly is your purpose in coming to my Demon Sect?” Leng Yeling hadn’t forgotten about how he had crippled Tang Guo’s spiritual roots. “If you really want revenge, come directly at me. Don’t create trouble in the Demon Sect.”
In his mind, he assumed Tang Guo still resented him for crippling her spiritual roots. That was the only grudge he could think of between them.
He couldn’t understand why even his usually discerning master had been bewitched by this woman.
Taking advantage of Mo Yuntian’s absence from the sect, he seized an opportunity to confront Tang Guo.
If it weren’t for Bai Wuqing standing nearby, he would have killed Tang Guo on the spot. Last time, he felt he had gone too easy on her. In hindsight, he should have severed her tendons entirely to prevent today’s trouble.
Bai Wuqing sensed Leng Yeling’s murderous intent and furrowed his brow slightly. He stepped forward to stand in front of Tang Guo, blocking Leng Yeling’s view of her.
“Bai Wuqing, didn’t you say you had nothing to do with her anymore?”
Bai Wuqing felt a bit displeased. If it weren’t for Leng Yeling and Feng Feiling, would their relationship have ended up like this?
“The matter of crippling your spiritual roots, you can just blame it all on me.”
This time, Tang Guo actually responded to Leng Yeling. “Of course I should pin it on you. You make it sound as if you were taking the blame for someone else.”
“Yes, I did it. Now, can you leave the Demon Sect?” Leng Yeling had no attachment to anyone else in the Demon Sect, but he did care about Mo Yuntian.
To him, Mo Yuntian was like a second father, and he would never allow Tang Guo to harm him.
“Why should I leave? I am the Holy Maiden Aunt of the Demon Sect, Mo Yuntian is my Big Brother, and as for you, Leng Yeling, stop with your ‘you, you, you.’ You should call me Aunt.”
Leng Yeling was so enraged that his chest felt like it was about to explode, yet there was nothing he could do about it.
Not only had she recovered her strength, but in such a short time, she had even broken through to the Nascent Soul stage. This didn’t surprise him. Encounters like this weren’t unheard of in the cultivation world, and besides, Tang Guo herself was an extraordinary genius.
What truly shocked him was Mo Yuntian and Bai Wuqing’s attitudes toward Tang Guo.
Bai Wuqing could be overlooked. He used to be Tang Guo’s master and might have regrets about the past.
But what was his master, Mo Yuntian, thinking? He obeyed Tang Guo’s every word, almost to the point of handing over the entire Demon Sect to her.
If Leng Yeling knew that Mo Yuntian had once seriously considered doing just that, he might have died of anger on the spot.
“In any case, you’d better not have any designs on the Demon Sect,” Leng Yeling, realizing his emotions had been too exposed lately, reined in his expression and said coldly to Tang Guo, “I was able to cripple you once, and I can cripple you countless times.”
After speaking, he felt Bai Wuqing’s gaze grow noticeably colder.
“This time, I won’t allow it.” Bai Wuqing’s voice was cold, his tone leaving no room for doubt. No one would suspect he was joking.
