Leng Yeling didn’t leave after just two days as he usually did when he returned to the sect.
This time, he stayed, waiting for Mo Yuntian to come back. While he wanted to meet Feng Feiling, he also wanted to figure out what had been happening in the sect recently.
The changes to the sect were dramatic. Buildings had been remodeled, formations rearranged, and new spiritual plants and herbs had been transplanted back to the sect.
According to the disciples, all of this was thanks to the Holy Maiden Aunt. Seeing the Demon Sect moving in a positive direction, Leng Yeling felt no hostility toward this mysterious Holy Maiden Aunt. Initially, he only wanted to meet her to avoid misunderstandings and conflicts in the future.
In short, his intentions were good.
But he never expected the outcome to be what it was.
About a month later, Mo Yuntian and Tang Guo returned. Once again, they came back loaded with resources, and everyone who had accompanied them was beaming with smiles.
Bai Wuqing continued to follow them silently, and everyone had already grown accustomed to it.
However, Bai Wuqing’s gaze could no longer leave Tang Guo. Every time he thought of her leaving Xingyue Sect, his heart felt heavy.
He didn’t know how to explain it, nor could he. He had always known that Tang Guo had feelings for him. She hadn’t done anything excessive, she had just used her status to create opportunities to interact with him.
She had asked about his preferences and often prepared things for him accordingly. But he was someone who valued peace and quiet, and with so many rumors circulating in the sect, he misunderstood her intentions.
Naturally, this led him to feel a sense of disgust toward her. Accusations of harming Feng Feiling and stealing the sect’s treasured artifact had many suspicious points, yet he deliberately didn’t investigate them fully, ultimately leading to her spiritual roots being crippled and her being expelled from the sect.
In the end, it was his selfishness that had driven him to believe that this would rid him of this troublesome disciple.
He hadn’t expected this to be the decision he would regret the most. After all, he was her master. No matter what, when something happened to her, he should have sought out the truth.
“Holy Maiden Aunt has returned, Young Sect Master.”
A disciple came to report, and Leng Yeling hurried over to meet her out of courtesy.
After Tang Guo entered the sect, she removed her bamboo hat.
The disciples who saw her all greeted her warmly as “Holy Maiden Aunt,” to which she nodded and smiled in response.
Leng Yeling heard the greetings from far away.
“Sect Master, Holy Maiden Aunt, the Young Sect Master has returned.”
Hearing this, Mo Yuntian glanced silently at Tang Guo. Seeing her smiling face that betrayed no emotion, he silently lit a candle for his disciple in his heart.
“Got it.”
Leng Yeling stepped into the main hall and greeted, “Master.” After speaking, he raised his head.
“So you still know to come back?”
Leng Yeling thought of the unpleasant quarrel he had with Mo Yuntian the last time he left the sect and felt a little guilty. If it hadn’t been for his master taking him in back then, he might not even be alive today.
“Master, this disciple was wrong.”
Mo Yuntian currently didn’t want to see Leng Yeling at all. He snorted coldly. After raising him for so many years, the boy had dared to talk back to him over a woman.
He had merely thought Feng Feiling seemed strange and warned Leng Yeling to be cautious. Yet, this once-respectful disciple had yelled at him in response. At the time, Mo Yuntian could barely contain his anger.
Now that the School Flower was here, Mo Yuntian no longer cared about such matters. He figured her presence must have something to do with Feng Feiling.
The School Flower had already agreed to spare Leng Yeling’s life, so what was he still worried about? Focusing on developing the Demon Sect was the true path, or rather, the demonic path! After all, their goal was to attack the righteous sects.
“This is my sworn sister. Acknowledge her, and from now on, address her as Aunt.”
