Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 520

“How could this be?”

Feng Feiling stared at the lush patch of wild grass, her eyes nearly popping out of their sockets.

She was certain she hadn’t remembered it wrong. Wasn’t this place originally a field of spiritual herbs?

There were some older ones, though not many, and most of the herbs were immature but relatively rare.

What… what is going on with this patch of lush wild grass?

Clenching her fists tightly, she felt an overwhelming sense of frustration. Recently, she had begun to realize that the advantages of being a reborn person seemed to have completely vanished.

Every place she had anticipated finding treasures either turned out to be full of stones, no longer existed, or had been emptied by someone else.

But seeing these weeds replace the spiritual herbs before her still made her extremely furious.

Does the heavens really dislike her this much?

They allowed her to be reborn, yet didn’t give her the chance to understand the secrets of destiny, even taking away what originally existed?

“Senior Sister Feng, it’s been nearly a month, and we haven’t found anything. Could it be that the information you received was wrong? Did someone deceive you?”

The disciples were clearly dissatisfied, but they couldn’t afford to offend Feng Feiling.

Even if Feng Feiling didn’t want to admit it, she had to acknowledge the possibility that the heavens were preventing her from seizing these opportunities, deliberately altering many of the expected outcomes.

Though unwilling to give up, she couldn’t continue to lead people on a fruitless search.

It seemed that, moving forward, she would have to wait until the right time to seek out these resources.

Luck and destiny were profound and mysterious. Because she was a reborn person, she valued these things even more. The more she thought about it, the worse her expression became. This feeling of being deliberately targeted by the heavens was truly unbearable.

But Feng Feiling refused to accept this fate. Deep in her heart a rebellious determination rose. One day she would tear through the heavens themselves.

Seeing Feng Feiling give up, Leng Yeling sighed in relief. “Ling’er, what are you planning to do next? I haven’t returned to the sect for a long time, so I’m thinking of heading back.”

“Then go back.” She didn’t really care about Leng Yeling. Even if she liked him just a tiny bit, it was only a little bit. The only person she truly cared about was herself.

Leng Yeling’s expression dimmed slightly, but he didn’t give up. “I’ll come back to see you later.”

Feng Feiling felt suffocated, not only because of her recent string of misfortunes but also because she realized Tang Guo had disappeared. The plans she had intended to set in motion were now delayed, leaving her incredibly frustrated.

Most importantly, her cultivation had stagnated over the past three years. The urgency behind her attempts to seize opportunities was driven by her desire to find something that could help her break through.

Now that she realized even the heavens were against her, could she possibly feel good about it?

Leng Yeling, feeling somewhat dejected, returned to the Demon Sect, only to suddenly notice that all the sect disciples were walking around with smiles on their faces, which struck him as particularly strange.

“Young Sect Master, you’re back?”

Leng Yeling nodded. “Where’s Master?”

“The Sect Master has gone out.”

Not paying it much mind, Leng Yeling continued toward his residence.

“I wonder what surprises the Holy Maiden Aunt will bring us this time.”

“Holy Maiden Aunt is amazing. It feels like she can do anything. Right now, in the sect, the person I admire most is Holy Maiden Aunt.”

Leng Yeling paused mid-step, then turned around and grabbed a disciple. “Who is this Holy Maiden Aunt?” He had a nagging feeling that during his time away from the Demon Sect, he’d missed something significant.

That disciple, seeing Leng Yeling’s confusion, suddenly realized that the Young Sect Master was unaware of this matter.

“Holy Maiden Aunt is the Sect Master’s sworn sister. Young Sect Master, didn’t the Sect Master inform you about this?”

“No.” Leng Yeling’s expression darkened. Since when did his master have an adopted sister?

He had no objections to his Master having a sworn sister. The problem was that his Master hadn’t informed him of this at all.
