Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 498

The entire city was still in shock. First, the Imperial Concubine revealed the palace’s secrets, and now General Tang, thought to have died long ago, had returned alive, bringing with him a massive army. It felt like a dream. Could this even be real?

Yet the scene before them confirmed the truth. General Tang had not only survived but had brought an army to lay siege to the imperial city.

“General Tang, are you trying to rebel?”

General Tang glanced at the furious speaker and smiled. “Rebel? I have no interest in something so petty. My Great Tang Dynasty doesn’t need a mere Tianqin Kingdom.”

Such arrogance, calling Tianqin “mere.”

Wait… what Great Tang Dynasty?

Everyone exchanged uneasy glances and couldn’t help but look toward the army. Only now did they notice the banners bearing the character “Tang.” For some reason, a sense of dread crept into their hearts, accompanied by an unspeakable foreboding.

“Listen closely. It is your Xuanyuan royal family that wronged my little Guo’er, and it is your Xuanyuan royal family that betrayed me, Tang Feng, after a lifetime of loyal service to the Tianqin Kingdom. Today, I have just one thing to say. As long as you don’t harm my little Guo’er, I will do nothing to the Tianqin Kingdom. But the moment you dare to harm her, prepare for my Great Tang Dynasty to flatten the Tianqin Kingdom.”

“My little Guo’er is the most noble princess of the Great Tang Dynasty. Her status surpasses that of any of you, and you still want to execute her?” Tang Feng sneered. “Step forward, anyone who still insists on this. Let me see who dares.”

The crowd swallowed nervously, stepping back one after another.

Tang Feng didn’t seem satisfied and waved his hand. “Let them witness the power of the Great Tang Dynasty.”

As soon as the words fell, soldiers moved to prepare the cylindrical objects mounted on the carts. They lit something, and then came a familiar thunderous bang. Not far away, a section of the city wall was blown apart, leaving a massive hole.

Rocks and debris flew in all directions, and those standing close were cut by tiny fragments. Faced with such a terrifying weapon, everyone retreated in fear.

Xuanyuan Mie leaned close to Tang Guo’s ear and whispered, “Is this what was recorded in that book?”

“Mm.”

Xuanyuan Mie chuckled and held the hand of the woman he loved. “My Guo’er is truly amazing, being able to bring out something this incredible.”

“Ah Mie, you’re from the Tianqin Kingdom. Shouldn’t you be as scared as they are right now?” Tang Guo teased.

Xuanyuan Mie wrapped an arm around her waist and said softly, “I’m already married to Guo’er. I belong to you now. I’m also the man of the most noble princess of the Great Tang Dynasty. What’s there to be afraid of?”

Tang Feng turned to see the two of them being affectionate and felt speechless. But then, recalling that this man, who looked exactly like Xuanyuan Mo, was genuinely good to his daughter, he decided to let it go.

If not for this man’s existence, who knew what kind of life his little Guo’er would have endured? So, he made a clear distinction between Xuanyuan Mie and the Xuanyuan royal family.

Xuanyuan Mie was different. He was someone who stood firmly by his daughter’s side and the one she liked.

As a father, Tang Feng could only stand behind her and protect her. This man, however, could stay by her side for life, taking care of her at all times. With him around, no one would dare harm her.

Xuanyuan Mo was in a daze. General Tang was still alive?

And he was now the emperor of this so-called Great Tang Dynasty, leading an army to surround the imperial city and, indeed, the entire Tianqin Kingdom.

It all felt like a dream.

But why was he so calm? Why wasn’t he angry at all?

Looking at the unfamiliar weapon that could blast a gaping hole in the city wall in an instant, Xuanyuan Mo understood that Tang Feng hadn’t exaggerated in the slightest. With that alone, taking down the Tianqin Kingdom was only a matter of time.
