“The sachet was genuinely embroidered for you,” Tang Guo helped Xuanyuan Mie put on the sachet she had embroidered, brushing her fingers over the small dog pattern on it. “But using you to accomplish something is also a fact.”
Xuanyuan Mie didn’t mind at all. He touched the sachet, revealing a row of neat teeth, though the curve of his lips still carried a hint of mischief. “As long as Guo’er likes it.”
Use him however she wanted—whether from the heart or the body—he was more than willing.
“Before I remind you, Ah Mie, you must not reveal the existence of this sachet to Xuanyuan Mo.”
Xuanyuan Mie squinted slightly. “Alright.” Although a bit regretful, listening to Guo’er was never wrong.
“Don’t feel regret. When the time comes, you can announce it to the entire world, and it won’t matter,” Tang Guo said with a smile. “From now on, I’ll make clothes for you, shoes for you, and you can show off in front of Xuanyuan Mo every day without issue.”
Xuanyuan Mie held her small, fair hand, lifted it, and kissed it. “No, Guo’er’s hands are not meant for such coarse work. Clothes and shoes can be made by others. If Guo’er truly cares, just make small sachets like this.”
Doing such things strained her eyes, and he couldn’t bear to see her exhaust herself. Her health was already fragile, and if it worsened because of such tasks, he’d regret it for the rest of his life.
He pulled her to sit down beside him and began massaging her knees. Every time he looked up, he was met with her smiling gaze, tinged with affection.
Guo’er liked him, and that was enough for him.
This woman could treat him so well it was almost overwhelming. Forget small uses; even if she used him greatly or demanded his life, he wouldn’t frown.
“Is Guo’er liking me a little more tonight?” His palms rested on her knees, his eyes filled with infinite tenderness.
Tang Guo held his face and kissed his forehead. “I like Ah Mie a little more.”
“That’s wonderful.”
“Things are progressing very smoothly on Father-in-Law’s side. With the items Guo’er provided, Father-in-Law, being a man of vision, has already gathered a group of loyal followers.”
Not only that, but retired soldiers, who had left due to injuries, were also quietly relocated by General Tang. Upon learning about Tang Guo’s situation, countless veterans were furious and willing to follow General Tang.
Xuanyuan Mie wanted to get involved, but both General Tang and Tang Guo stopped him.
The father and daughter were truly cut from the same cloth, but it was enough to prove they were both highly capable.
Xuanyuan Mie often thought it was no wonder he had fallen in love with her at first sight. Guo’er was so outstanding it was almost infuriating.
Perhaps the heavens were too jealous of such an exceptional Guo’er, leaving her with a body burdened by illness.
“I have one more thing I need you to deliver to my father.”
Tang Guo motioned for Mei Lan to bring over a booklet she had prepared. Without sealing it, she handed it to Xuanyuan Mie. “With the contents of this booklet, conquering a mere Tianqin Kingdom would be trivial. The entire world might not even be out of reach. But my father and I don’t have such grand ambitions. We only need to control a region and maintain the power to take down Tianqin Kingdom whenever necessary.”
Xuanyuan Mie chuckled. No ambition? Not everyone could achieve even that.
Tianqin Kingdom wasn’t a small country; it was a superpower.
These two were incredible.
He didn’t even consider opening the booklet. Instead, he tucked it directly into his robes. The fact that Guo’er handed it to him unsealed showed her trust in him. No matter how valuable the contents were, they didn’t matter to him. The only thing that mattered was the person in front of him.
