“Why is the one in power called the Zombie Queen?” Yan Yi asked, puzzled.
The subordinate who received the news quickly said, “It’s said that the Zombie Queen is a zombie, but a conscious and very powerful one.”
Yan Yi was shocked, but he quickly regained his composure and glanced at Yan Nian. A conscious zombie, they had indeed seen one and were quite familiar with it.
Yan Nian’s hands were trembling. Why was everything so different from the book?
Could it be her appearance that caused this butterfly effect?
“Boss Yan, it’s getting more dangerous outside. Those close to the Sunset Empire have all defected to them. The best solution now is to consolidate all the bases. We need to unite and expand the human survival range.”
“Yes, from the looks of the Sunset Empire, unless we submit to them, they won’t help us.”
“Let me think about it.”
Su Ao had already gone to gather information. Su Ao was also that conscious zombie. After the last incident, he stated that he would stay in the shadows to protect Yan Nian. Now, he had advanced to level six, looking much cleaner, though his complexion still appeared abnormal.
But his strength was immense. Since the disappearance of old members like Qin Jiaren, there were few powerful and trustworthy ability users left around him.
Because of Yan Nian, Su Ao would never betray him.
After the meeting was dismissed, the two returned to wait for news.
It didn’t take long for Su Ao to come back.
“How did it go, Brother Su?”
Yan Nian was the most concerned. The current apocalypse made her very anxious; everything was different from the book she had read. This was no longer just a book but a real world.
For the first time, she felt the terror of the unknown.
Su Ao’s expression was very complex. It took the journey back for him to not appear so shocked.
“The Zombie Queen is indeed a zombie. We believe that most of the zombies we thought had disappeared were accepted by the Sunset Empire. The zombies there are conscious, they don’t bite people, and can coexist peacefully with humans. Their food is the same as humans, even…”
“Even what?”
Yan Nian couldn’t believe it. Zombies and humans living peacefully together, was that possible? But… seeing Su Ao in front of her, it seemed possible.
Su Ao continued, “Eighty percent of them are zombies, only twenty percent are human. It’s like a paradise inside, no danger, very peaceful. I once saw a Licker trying to break in, but it was eliminated within a few steps.”
“How is that possible??”
“If they can eliminate the Lickers, why not eliminate all of them?” Yan Nian instinctively asked, “Wouldn’t that benefit all humans?”
For the first time, Su Ao couldn’t help but refute Yan Nian’s words, “Nian Nian, that’s an empire ruled by zombies. It should originally be called the Zombie Empire.”
“The reason it was renamed the Sunset Empire is because of the Zombie Queen’s husband, the current Prince Shi Cheng, was originally the leader of the Sunset Base.”
“Do you think zombies will help humans deal with all the Lickers?”
“Humans see zombies as enemies. Why would they help humans?”
What Su Ao didn’t say was that he envied them. He envied the zombies of the Sunset Empire who lived even better than the humans here.
The Zombie Queen was powerful. She could establish an empire, protect all zombies from being exterminated, and even allow zombies and humans to coexist peacefully.
Compared to him, who only wanted to protect the woman he secretly loved, she was truly great.
He heard a sentence over there, said by the Zombie Queen, “We are all people. Why can’t we live on this planet? This is our right too.”
