“Wouldn’t it be better if she died?”
Tang Guo’s faint smile chilled everyone’s hearts. Shao Qing was surprised; was this still the timid yet somewhat naive young lady from before?
No, she had never been a simple person.
“Yan Nian hasn’t done anything to wrong you. How can you be so vicious?” Shao Qing was trembling with anger, but the woman in front of him remained unmoved.
She murmured softly, “Did she really not do anything to wrong me?”
“Only she would know.”
“If she survives today, it means the heavens favor her. I can fight anyone, but if the heavens are against me, I’m afraid I really can’t win.”
Her eyes dimmed. “All my persistence these days might just be a joke. I gave up my dignity as a lady, cooked for the team, just to make Ah Yi believe in my determination. I thought persistence would bring results, but he never believed in me. Instead, he grew more and more disgusted with me.”
“Ah Yi has been pursuing me since high school, pampering me, caring for me, loving me, protecting me,” she lowered her eyes. “When he had a high fever, I never thought of abandoning him.
I even thought, if he woke up as a zombie, what’s the point of living alone in this apocalypse? I might as well let him bite me, and we could become a zombie couple.”
“It was she who appeared. She traded my jade pendant for medicine and told me there was a pharmacy not far from the villa. Ah Yi loves me, and I love Ah Yi. No matter how timid I am, as long as I can save Ah Yi, what does my life matter?”
“The moment I rushed out of the villa, my legs were shaking. I was holding a kitchen knife, one that I had never even used to cut meat, and I hacked my way through countless zombies, covered in their disgusting fluids and brain matter.
Despite being so clean and loving beauty, I didn’t care about any of that. Instead, I was overjoyed that I made it to the pharmacy.
Yes, I reached the pharmacy, and I could finally get the medicine to save my love.”
“But…”
But she was still bitten by a zombie and became a very special zombie. She made her way to Base No. 7, only to see her lover with another woman.
No matter how she explains it, her lover doesn’t believe her. He thinks she’s just acting, he thinks she abandoned him, he thinks she’s using sweet talk, and in the end, he even thinks she’s vicious.
She lowered her pride, did things she had never done before. With her looks, even in the apocalypse, countless strong men were willing to take care of her, not to mention her zombie identity, her strength was not low.
Whether in a human base or among zombies, she could live well in this world without doing those things.
She thought as long as she explained clearly and spent some time, there would be results.
However, she was wrong.
“No matter what, you shouldn’t have pushed Yan Nian.” Shao Qing stubbornly said, not believing Tang Guo’s words. “I really misjudged you.”
“I thought you just had a bit of a spoiled temperament, and leaving the boss was because you were too scared. Now I understand, you are inherently vicious.”
“The boss didn’t choose you, and that was absolutely right.”
Tang Guo didn’t speak anymore, just stood there dumbfounded, watching the man running in the distance.
“Come with me.”
At some point, a truck had pulled up beside the team, and a cold, handsome man jumped down from it. He walked up to Tang Guo, the coldness on his face lessened considerably.
