“Guo Guo was a clever child from a young age. After her surgery at the age of three, she was always busy and would pester her father to teach her how to handle the company’s affairs. We couldn’t resist her, so we had to let her do as she pleased, hoping she would be happy.
In the hospital room before her surgery, she would always stare out the window at a little boy who was being bullied but still persevered.
Later, her father and I told her that if her surgery was successful, we would bring that boy back with us.”
Dong Mei looked at the tombstone in front of her, with a black-and-white photo of a girl with a bright smile on her face, tears in her eyes.
She had passed away at the age of 38, but time seemed to have been kind to her. She still looked like she was in her twenties.
She had lived a happy life. Although Dong Mei was sad, she had no regrets. Her daughter would eventually have to leave, and she had been with them for so long.
“She liked you a lot. When she was young, she used to tell us that she wanted to work hard to earn money to marry you.” Dong Mei smiled. “We thought it was a joke, but she achieved it when she was only ten years old. She was very talented, and she excelled in both business and computers.
That year, she could already control Tangshi completely, but she would only make plans behind our backs.
Later, when you wanted to go abroad, she chose to support you from behind the scenes. When you started your own business overseas, she secretly supported you.
She never forgot the words ‘earn money to marry brother.’
Dong Mei saw that Tang Zheng had no expression on his face, but tears kept streaming down her face. “I know this will make you sad, but we want you to understand her more. Selfishly, we don’t want you to forget her.
Even if you chose to evade her back then, she never forced you. She really liked you, and I have never seen such pure liking before. Whatever you liked, she would do her best to make it happen.
This child was really silly.”
Dong Mei wiped away her tears, and Tang Licheng immediately hugged her, comforting each other as husband and wife.
“Fortunately, she lived a happy life later,” Dong Mei said with tears in her eyes and a smile on her face. “Xiao Zheng, thank you. Guo Guo had a happy life, and we have no regrets.”
Tang Zheng didn’t say a word. Dong Mei and Tang Licheng left, and he stood there for a long time.
A few years passed, and Tang Zheng saw off his adoptive parents.
Five more years passed, and he sat in a wheelchair, pushed by his son.
He gazed at the woman in the black and white photo and smiled from the heart.
As his consciousness faded away, his gaze suddenly became clear, and he finally fixed his eyes on that photo. The love in his eyes dissipated a lot, and his eyes became colder, seeming to be calmer but not really.
If someone saw his lips, they would know that the last two words he wanted to say were “originally.”
Tianquan.
Tang Guo lay there for several days, with a smile on her lips.
“[Host, have you noticed that Tianquan seems brighter?]”
Tang Guo opened her eyes and took a glance. Indeed, there seemed to be stars under Tianquan, much brighter than before. The clear water surface shimmered with silver light.
“[Host, you seem very happy in this life.]”
Tang Guo got up and didn’t deny it. “Of course, I’m doing well in this life.”
“[Because of Tang Zheng?]”
Tang Guo hesitated for a moment. “Yes.”
The unnecessary emotions were blocked out when she entered Tianquan, but she remembered Tang Zheng.
“The next world.”
Before entering the next world, Tang Guo turned back and looked at the bright Tianquan with a curious expression.
