“No, I won’t. Heaven does not dare punish me.”
Fang Yunchi’s face turned cold. “A vicious ghost like you will definitely be punished by heaven.”
“Fang Yunchi, you’re actually a selfish person,” Tang Guo narrowed her eyes. “One day you will regret this, and you will understand how ridiculous what you’re doing is. Some evil roots I’ve already removed. But fate is unpredictable. Remove the root of disaster here today, and tomorrow it may appear somewhere else.”
“Fang Yunchi, let me give you one final piece of advice. When you catch ghosts, use your brain. Don’t capture every ghost you see. Don’t deprive them of their existence without caring whether they are good or bad.”
Fang Yunchi fell silent for a moment. “I punish evil and uphold good. I exterminate evil ghosts. How could there be any disaster left behind?”
Tang Guo smiled and shook her head, saying no more.
The clever little ghosts whose soul forms had already solidified saw Tang Guo standing there. One of them somehow produced a chair and placed it before her, then bowed respectfully.
“Alright, go take your revenge. I’ll handle everything here.”
“Tang Guo, you must act according to rules. If you continue like this, even if I don’t stop you, heaven will.” Fang Yunchi could not pass the barrier. Soon screams echoed through the village. He shouted, “Tang Guo!”
Tang Guo did not turn around. She only listened to the cries.
After a long time, Fang Yunchi looked utterly dispirited. He could not even deal with a single ghost. What kind of ghost-catching Daoist was he?
“Have you finished your revenge?” Tang Guo asked the little ghosts.
A group of them came before her, gratitude written on their faces as they bowed and thanked her. Souls had no tears. They truly wanted to cry, but could not. Their expressions were awkward and strained.
“Then I’ll help you transcend and send you to reincarnation,” Tang Guo said with a smile. “Entering reincarnation and being reborn as human is a good thing.”
“In your next life, you will be entirely new people. You won’t remember what happened in this life. But you must be people with principles.”
The little ghosts did not fully understand, but they believed that having principles meant not harming others without cause.
They found her words strange. Why did she not tell them to be good people?
“Because being a good person may not bring good results. If you are too good, you may be bullied. You only need to follow your heart and your principles, and not take the initiative to harm others.”
The little ghosts nodded, half understanding. When Tang Guo began chanting the Rebirth Sutra, they sat down cross-legged.
Before long, their soul forms grew transparent. Tang Guo formed a hand seal and opened a door beside them. As if sensing it, they bowed to her one last time and jumped into reincarnation.
Fang Yunchi could only watch helplessly as the little ghosts were reborn.
He had not expected that a ghost who had killed so many and committed so much wrongdoing would be surrounded by Buddhist light.
Ning Xiangsi could not believe it either. How could Tang Guo possess Buddhist light? It was too strange.
Watching the little ghosts slowly pass into reincarnation, Ning Xiangsi did not feel much.
The people in that village truly were evil.
If those little ghosts were avenging themselves, she could accept it. Especially when she heard the men’s screams, she knew exactly what had happened.
Compared to two years ago, she had matured. Her thinking was no longer so one-sided.
Tang Guo had been harmed by the people of that village back then. What she did now was not unreasonable.
