“Didn’t I just remove those men’s evil roots? What’s so hard to say?” Tang Guo spoke with a smile. The people present found it difficult to respond. This female ghost truly had no shame.
Tang Guo glanced at Qin Jiu beside her. “Ah Jiu, tell me, didn’t those people deserve to be cut off at the root?”
“They did,” Qin Jiu answered firmly.
Tang Guo was delighted. Her body solidified, and she looped her arm through his. Their intimate posture was clear for everyone to see. Eyes widened in disbelief.
Qin Jiu, the young Daoist who only cared about catching demons and making money, was actually in a relationship with a female ghost?
Impossible.
“Qin Jiu, you… what is your relationship with this female ghost?” someone asked, voice trembling. Could it be true? How could Qin Jiu do such a thing?
Qin Jiu wrapped an arm around Tang Guo’s slender waist. Even without words, he confirmed their relationship. “As you see, as you think. Exactly that.”
“Didn’t you say you only like catching demons and making money?”
“I also said before that I’ve added another hobby.” Qin Jiu smiled brightly, his gaze toward Tang Guo filled only with indulgence and affection. “Spoiling my wife.”
Everyone fell silent. Since when did humans and ghosts flaunt affection like this?
Fang Yunchi’s expression changed. “Humans and ghosts cannot be together. Qin Jiu, you’ve already violated the rules.”
“Whose rules?” Qin Jiu countered, his gaze sharp as he stared at Fang Yunchi. “Yours?”
“In any case, humans and ghosts cannot fall in love.” Fang Yunchi spoke stubbornly, looking at Qin Jiu with disgust. “As someone from the metaphysics world, you actually fell in love with a ghost. You—”
“I am not a ghost-catching Daoist. I am a demon-catching Daoist. Why can’t I fall in love with a ghost?” Qin Jiu cut him off.
Tang Guo nodded in agreement. “Exactly. What does it have to do with you? Why are you meddling in other people’s relationships? It’s none of your business.”
“Ah Jiu, wait here. Didn’t he want to stop me from doing things today? I’ll do something right in front of him and see if he can stop me.”
She released Qin Jiu’s arm, her form turning ethereal again as she drifted toward the village below.
Seeing this, Fang Yunchi felt a bad premonition and chased after her. Ning Xiangsi followed closely behind, uneasy. She had witnessed Tang Guo’s strength years ago. Could Brother Fang truly defeat her?
“Elders, please help!” Fang Yunchi called back to the others. “She’s going to commit evil again. I’ll double whatever I promised you.”
“Boy Fang, we cannot help. We truly cannot.”
No reward was worth it. They had traveled the world for many years and seen countless ghosts. This was the only one whose strength they could not determine. Some were even wondering how long they would last if they faced her.
Fang Yunchi’s face darkened. “Since you refuse, then so be it. I hope you won’t regret it one day. If this female ghost continues to grow, the human world will fall into chaos because of her.”
With that, Fang Yunchi ignored them and chased into the village after Tang Guo.
The remaining people shook their heads. What growing stronger? She had already grown strong enough.
No one could restrain her growth anymore. She would only become more powerful.
