Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 690

With Ning Luo’s guidance, the tribe members made many simple yet practical little items and took them to other tribes to exchange for goods. Whenever others asked about them, they would praise Ning Luo from head to toe.

In just two short months, Ning Luo’s name became known to many.

Even a beastman kingdom called the Mata Kingdom, located some distance from the Lado Tribe, learned of Ning Luo’s existence.

At the time, King Lari of the Mata Kingdom made a decisive decision to seize Ning Luo. Of course, if those beastmen were willing to hand Ning Luo over themselves, that would be even better.

If they refused, the Mata Kingdom would launch a war, occupy the Lado Tribe, kill their male beastmen, and seize their females and food.

King Lari acted swiftly. He dispatched two hundred of the Mata Kingdom’s strongest warriors toward the Lado Tribe. Riding tamed beasts, they moved at astonishing speed.

Any tribe that dared to block their path was trampled flat. The members of the Mata Kingdom were notoriously brutal, otherwise they would not have been able to establish a kingdom.

Under the Mata Kingdom’s rule, many beastman tribes were forced into submission. Every year, they had to pay food as tribute in exchange for being allowed to take shelter within the Mata Kingdom’s territory when the Beast Tide arrived.

But paying that tribute meant they never had enough to eat throughout the year.

Many tribes that were unwilling to submit, like the Lado Tribe, refused to rely on a kingdom that exploited their food. They moved deep into the forest, beyond the Mata Kingdom’s reach.

The price they paid was facing the danger of the Beast Tide every year.

Mata Kingdom’s city was built of stone, and it also possessed powerful sages. Even if the Beast Tide attacked, they were able to repel it.

The Mata Kingdom warriors moved far too quickly. Before the Lado Tribe could receive any news, they were already surrounded.

Faced with those fierce warriors and the beasts they led, every member of the Lado Tribe turned pale. Even though they had the powerful Chief Black Wolf, as well as Gaien, Aimo, Ming Jiu, and Vigo, they still could not compare to the hundreds of warriors from the Mata Kingdom. If conflict broke out, the Lado Tribe’s hundred plus members would be completely unable to resist.

Not to mention that the Mata Kingdom had far more than just these two hundred warriors.

“We are here for only one thing,” a Mata Kingdom warrior said coldly. “Hand over the small female named Ning Luo. Do not try to fool us. We know that female is fair and delicate, unlike the others.”

“You have three days to consider. Otherwise, we will take over your Lado Tribe, kill all the male beastmen here, and everything else, your females and your food, will belong to the Mata Kingdom.”

Black Wolf’s expression changed, but he did not dare confront them head on. After finally finding a place to settle, was he supposed to give it up just like that?

He never once considered handing Ning Luo over. He planned to lead the tribe away from here overnight.

After watching the Mata Kingdom warriors turn and leave, Black Wolf immediately gathered all the tribe members and announced the plan to evacuate that night.

Everyone returned to the caves to pack up their belongings.

When night fell, the Lado Tribe quietly moved from the back of the mountain toward the depths of the forest. They had underestimated the Mata Kingdom’s determination to obtain Ning Luo.

They had not gone far before something felt wrong. Two members walking at the front screamed. Black Wolf raised a torch and saw clearly that the two were being torn apart by wild beasts.

A Mata Kingdom warrior’s voice rang out, “I told you not to try to fool us. Go back, or die. The choice is yours. Now I have changed my mind. You have two days to consider.”
